LIFTING STRAPS! BeSt LooKiNG I have EVER seen, by far the STRONGEST and...MUST READ!!

I never understood the concept of straps, if you use them you end up with weak, underdeveloped forearms, its not like you can use them in powerlifting competitions either....
I basically agree with George on this one, not necessary, and as my deadlift video that I posted proved, I'm no pussy when it comes to the weight I pull without them

I've seen that video bro and that's not easy to do. I have a fractured thumb for example that weakenns my grip so straps help me. and belive me I have huge forearms. So it has nothing to do with your forearms size or strenght.

Sounds like you have a good reason for using straps. (Your thumb.) But, if your thumb was not injured, would you still use the straps?

When there is a need for straps..

Of course I always don't use straps, when I do lighter weighted exercises I won't use them. When you do various explosive exercises where you want to overload your back and your hands can't handle the weight then it is positively a necessity to use straps! I don't know who of you on here do any lifts such as Power cleans or Snatches or hang cleans. Those are the Olympic lifts and the hang clean is from the mid thigh to the shldrs. These are very explosive lifts, When I put 350 lbs on my bar and I hang clean it you can be DAMN sure my hands aint holding that up, nor many people around unless you are a pro powerhouse. That is why straps are needed. Overload. BTW Needsize what is your best deadlift for 1 rep. Also some guy said the link didn't work ? Well I guess type in into your browser and search it is definitely a site, www.prowriststraps.com. needsize get back to me on that 1 rep . Later

That's a whole different story. If you've got an injury you have to train around... straps are smart. For the average guy, though, they keep him from developing his grip and forearms.

He messed up typing the link again...there was a period at the end...for those of you that wanted to check it out, here it is:

Personally I prefer the leather lifting straps because they are thin and I have kinda stubby hands. The only problem is that they stretch out. I did take a look at this site though and they seem to be pretty good, I might order a pair to check them out(Quadz is right about stuff like power cleans, no way I could hold onto my weights once I get to work sets).

I've done 550lbs for a set of 5 reps, and 600lbs for a single(pic in the pics forum somewhere), figure I'm good for at least a 650 but I dont like singles

Like Joker said, you've got a good reason for using the straps, I've just seen too many(but not all users) use them just because its easier

its like everything else....u must learn to use the straps to benefit u and not take away the benefit of the exercise that u r doing. i guess 2 each his own.....but 2 make a bold statement that straps r for pussies period.....well the above says it all.

I have used them for 2 weeks now and they were the missing link in my training.

Sounds like the missing link in your training is grip strenght :FRlol:

Work those forearms son...

You might want to tone down the sales pitch...it's kind of obvious.
