LIFTING STRAPS! BeSt LooKiNG I have EVER seen, by far the STRONGEST and...MUST READ!!

This is true, but not everyone is interested in building gripping strength. It may be required in powerlifting, but not everyone here aspires to be a powerlifter. I use straps on a lot of back exercises because I can concentrate on moving the weight and not on maintianing my grip. I also spend alot of time working forearms with various types of wrist curls and when I'm commuting to work I use my grippers too. My forearm development is right on par with what I want it to be as is my grip strength.
 
How many people over here can hold on to 700-800 lbs for 15-20 seconds without straps? I know I can't when I do shrugs with that much weight and it aint' my forearms, because for the guys who knwo me they have seen how big my forearms are, they are almost as big as my bis and I have 20 inch bis:rolleyes:
 
Straps

I don't know anyone who can hold 700-800 lbs up let alone for 15-20 seconds. Alot of people need the straps. I also do a lot of wrist exercises, Rollers, curls etc etc. I try to do shrugs w/out the straps, but after a few sets my 4 arms r shot and I can't hold the weight, so it's useless to keep shrugging w/out the straps. For the kid who shrugs with 700 lbs, what kind of shrugs do you do ?? I like pause shrugs, after each rep I hold for 5 seconds, I don't know if it's a good method. I want to know a way to smash the traps. The only way my traps ever get sore are from Power cleans and hang cleans. I Never feel it from shrugs alone..?? Needsize, nice numbers for deads, I do about the same weight, 550-600 for 5-6. I have not deaded in a couple months, I am starting up again. Hope to get some big numbers Soon.

I do 6 to 7 plates on shrugs for 8-10 reps with straps. I go straight up and down. Very little pause withou raising my feet off the ground or using my arms to lift it. You've got to go heavy to get big traps. I'm sore for days very week after I work my traps.
 
Shrugs

I guess I go too light with the shrugs. The only time when I get my traps sore is when I do my hang cleans with 320 lbs-330 for 5 reps. Or From heavy deads. Are there any powerlifters on here or just bodybuilders ?? I changed my routine from 8 reps down to 5 and 6, I am more sore now and I feel MUCh more solid and less like a weak pumped up Balloon. lol. I wonder what you guys get more mass results from 8 reps or 5 and 6 reps ???
 
Bro's jamesquadz is a good personal friend of mine from around here and believe me this boy is fuckin powerful. Big and thick and strong as fuck. He powerlifts mostly because he needed the extra power as he was a collegiate shotputter but is getting into bodybuilding more though.

I understand what you guys are trying to say that you shouldn't DEPEND on them but they are a useful tool when your grip fails you and you need to fully get the most out of your workout still. Some people(myself included) don't have a grip strength proportionate to my back strength but I do train them and they are getting stronger all the time. Still I can deadlift 505 plus pounds but unfortunately my grip only allows me to deadlift with 405 for reps and max out with 455 without straps which sucks I know but I'm working on them.

p.s. jamesquadz those exercises aren't that good for grip strength. Would help to build up the forearms but not really enhance your grip. Try doing power holds with a thick bar and hold for as long as you can with heavy weight and repeat for several sets. Do this after you work your back or your arms and don't do it more than 2 times a week. Even once would be better to allow for maximum recuperation but everyone is different and some people can recover better.

My palms are all fucked up cause I never used straps or gloves before, I wish I started using them before ...
This thread does seem like a big commercial though.

Well add me to the list of pussies who use straps ! I've used the same pair for 20 years, never ripped yet...maybe I bought good ones to begin with, they look like shit but ohwell.

No clue how you non strap users shrug 10 or 12 plates at a time without them, maybe I'm just weak...oh ya, I use them for pull downs tooooooooo.
