Lifting Legs and then Playing Basketball later that night.

ConstantChange

I've started playing basketball for about 2 hours on Wednesday and Sunday nights. The problem is....Wednesday is my leg day for this routine and there is no other day that will work.

My question is....besides being fatigued playing basketball, is there any disadvantage to lifting legs and then about 2-4 hours later running the court for 2 hours?

With my busy schedule, the basketball is the only cardio I get during the week.

injury

i dont think it is smart to lift legs then play ball. you got a good chance of injurying yourself.

basketball?

I have trouble walking to my car and then to my bed after a leg workout. I can't even imagine running for 2 hours.

Well....the problem solved itself tonight. I was so tired and worn out from leg day, that I feel asleep and didn't wake up till 15 mins after I was suppose to be at the gym. I don't think I could have done it anyways.

Constant,

I say negative on the hooping after you lift. The risk of injury is too high and you will be overtraining period. The only reason I could think of you even trying to get into an arena, the same day you lift legs is for a shooting drill or simulating game time foul shots. The body needs rest.

Legs won't last forever so be smart and use them wisely.

lately i've noticed that in the days following my leg workout, my vertical is a good 2-3" higher. the funny thing is that it's when i'm most sore that the vertical is the highest.
