Last night dinner =$1240.00 Tip = $3.00

I have to point out that she wasn't new at the job, nor was this the first time I have been here to this establishment. I was here back in January and she was there then. I didn't pay much attention to her back then because she wasn't our waitress. The only reason I remembered her was from seeing her nails at the bar that night as they are sort of unique because in a couple of them, she had a hole drilled in the nail and a cubic zicornia insert. Done rather nicely, not ghetto at all.

The people here know me. Back in October after taking 7 clients there I actually got a thank you card in the mail from the general manager. I filled out a comment card at his request then and gave them all highest marks.

I'll tip 25-30% for really great service..

Rarely if ever do I tip less than 10%
If the service is that bad than I will ask to speak to the manager and
ask them why I should pay for the meal and why the service was so poor.

Leaving no tip will not fix the problems if you want to continue going to this resturant.

That's a lot of money for Grape Juice..

Exactly. What AAP did was a very low class move.

Screw the waitress, you did the right thing!

I really don't like the feeling that I'm obligated to tip just because others consider it the done thing. As a rule I never tip unless the service is exceptional. People who tip regardless don't help the next customer.

No, a low class move would be to reward her for lack of attention.

There is nothing in a resturant guideline that says I have to be responsible for her livelihood. Consider :

gra·tu·i·ty ( P ) Pronunciation Key (gr-t-t, -ty-)
n. pl. gra·tu·i·ties
A favor or gift, usually in the form of money, given in return for service.

Note the "in return for service" part. We got no service. If she wanted a tip, why wasn't she working for it.

She was not overworked and had more tables to handle than she could manage.
She was not seating other people and doing other errands.
She was not bringing food to tables and such.

She was socializing. She was at this other table, often squatting down and holding on to the edge to be sneaky so she wasn't spotted. She was laughing and talking and just "omg"ing it up and "nooooo, he did what?"

We had BAD SERVICE. Plain and simple. Not bad food. I paid for that. Not bad drinks, I paid for that. But her service sucked. I have been here probably 15 times before and NEVER have I had the chef to bring out the entrees. What the fuck kind of resturant has their CHEF bringing out salads, water glasses and coffee?

So I am suppose to tip her for that?

I ain't shitting you. This was not a customer/business related conversation that she was engaged in. Bitch was slacking off.

You know what happens if I slack off on my job? My ass don't get paid. That's what. She ain't no different.

i wouldn't have even given her the 3 bucks if i was in your position big brobowski..

People on here acting like not only did I not give her any money at all, but I drove over to her house afterwards and stole the clothes off her youngun and took every crumb of food out the house too.

TIP= To Insure Promptness

Looks like the waitress was more worried about gossip her friends were telling her. She figured w/the drink orders, bottles of wine, she calculated how much tip she would get in her head. Hope she got an eye opener when she saw the bill after you left.

Remember a few years ago while at the WMC, South Beach and eating lunch (party of 5)on a Sunday off of Ocean at Mango. Hardly anyone up yet for the lunch and not busy at all. Waiter seats us outside, takes 10 min to bring water/take our drink order. He's over talking to a hottie waitress. Another 20 miin go by and takes our lunch order. Food comes and we eat...whole time still talking to the same hottie, not refilling our drinks or asking hows the food.. just as we finish he comes by and tries to smooze...left his ass a nickel tip on $150 tab...watched him run over to look at his tip and saw his face... gave him the look that right bitch, do your work and flirting after hours.

WOW - heated conv. AAP - I have to agree with you - She did not deserve and type of real tip - Would I have given more that $3.00? Probably but thats my preference and your entitled to your own =)

My better questions is that I cant believe you drank that much lol!!
