my question is this.... what could Canseco have done to get back at them besides doing what he did? kill em? no.

any smart person knows you dont fuck somebody over that has dirt on you. for example: if a friend of yours knows you have been unfaithful to your wife, would you screw him out of some money? FUCK NO! because you know his ass is gonna turn around and tell your wife what you have been up to then their gonna fuck... see

You're right...what goes around comes around. So by ratting, this implies that he's gonna get fucked even more. If people truely believed that what goes around comes around, then they would just let nature take its course and stay out of it, thus avoiding a continual cycle of it coming around on them again and again. I would rather take no action of revenge than be a rat.

i know what you are saying but if someone royaly fucked me and i didnt do anything about it i would go crazy! it would eat me up inside. i guess im just Vindictive.

I don't know krishna, I don't really agree with you. Yes, you really have to be a low-life to rat on your friends. But this belief in loyalty across the board is not practical in real-life scenarios. I wouldn't consider not ratting out on someone a virtue. We have NO idea what those players did to Canseco, nor will we probably ever know. It's between those guys. If they fucked him over, then I say he's got a right to fuck them over. Eye for an eye. Yeah, if they were friends, then there's no excuse. But from the bits and pieces that I've picked up, they betrayed him. So I think he did what he needed to do to get even. Do I agree with it? I don't know. You gotta do what you gotta do - he raked in a lot of dough by writing that book. Props to him for exploiting the system.

Canseco was my favorite ballplayer when I was growing up, but that's where I draw the line. I don't know the guy, so I won't say I like him or dislike him. For all I know he could be nicest person in the world, or the biggest dick. Personally, I could care less. I try not to put celebrities or athletes on pedastals or put them below me. They're human just like everyone else - no need for special treatment.

He was my favorite too when I was a kid. I mentioned that in an earlier post. An eye for an eye is the same as being in a never ending circle of revenge like lefler mentioned. I guess I can't judge him because I'm not in his shoes. All I know is I sure as hell wouldn't want to go back to prison knowing I ratted on people concerning legal matters. It would be a matter of life and death. I've been there and lived in that mentality. It's a code of conduct. You rat, you die; or maybe you might get lucky and land in the emergency room with a broomstick in your ass, but at least you'd still be alive. If Conseco went to prison, he'd be a goner.
