Well Tracy is holding some modeling/bikini/fashion show type thing - so she'll let me know the details later. And I'm considering either the East Coast Bodybuilding & Figure in Paterson, NJ Nov 5th or the Gold's Classic BB Fitness & Figure show in Lakewood, NJ Oct 29th.
 
Well I've been lurking for awhile but I just HAVE to say whatever you're doing, KEEP IT UP!!! All your hard work is very inspiring. I would go ahead and weld a basketball hoop to the top of that trophy =).

If you do one do the Gold's Classic. First Paterson is not a real nice area. Trust me you will be happier doing the Gold's Classic. The Gold's Classic is in Toms River this year, here is the application and NJ web site http://www.njnpc.org/2005/goldsclassic/Gold%27s_Classic_2005%5B1%5D.pdf

I live only 10 min away so I would say I know the area. The Ramada in Lakewood/Toms River is the best Hotel in the area. It's under 10 min away. If your comming from Delaware it's real easy to get to.

Ah ok cool!! I think it'd be easier to come up Fri nite so I can get ready in the morning & be right there. Then just go home after the show. I'd drive up in the morning if the pre-judge wasn't so early.

Looks like this would be a smaller show & it looks like they only have 1 figure category but only 2 classes.

This is actually a big time show. Not a big one for figure. But it's only a couple of weeks away from nationals and it's usually one of the toughest shows of the year. There are usually a few ringers trying to requalify for nationals on the mens side. It's not as big for figure because the figure nationals are in Aug with the TU. But the competition is always very good all the way around.

There is a Howard Johnson and Holiday inn nearby as well. There should be a ton of Hotels because we are near the shore just remember it's Halloween weekend so they may fill up soon.

OK I have officially made myself sick!! :sick: Today I froze what leftovers from the party I could.

Going to try & eat better tomorrow....but T & I are going out to dinner tomorrow nite to celebrate our anniversary. But I'll eat clean during the day & get some am cardio.
 
I promise you, I'm not some weird stalker freak but I am seriously thinking of printing out your before and after pics and putting them on my fridge. I'm a similar age to you and I still think in the back of my head that this sort of transformation can't happen the older you get. You've proved otherwise and that's a big deal for me. Now, I know I'm a loooooonnnnnggg way behind you but still, maybe I have a chance if I'm dedicated and work hard enough.

Well I went to the gym today to do some cardio & the woman whom I competed against works there. Tried to catch her eye but she was walking around looking down the whole time. John (the desk guy) asked me to tell him about the show & while I was talking to him I asked if Maryanne was upset. He said she was VERY upset - came in yesterday looking like she had cried all day Sunday & turned around & left. :worried:

I left her alone & let her have her space. I feel bad for her cuz I guess she had expected a lot more.

Think about how hard YOU worked, how far YOU came, the fact that YOU worked your ass off ALL YEAR LONG

I don't want to sound b!&**y.....BUT you shouldn't feel bad.

This is a sport (where everyone who 'plays' gets judged) It's not your fault that you placed better. If anything, she should be talking to you, asking help & ideas from you.

I hope she cheers up, so you don't feel uncomfortable at your gym.

Jens, this is why you should never go into a compete with a set "expectation" sure we all want to win, but we have to remember that so does everyone else who competes, and everyone has done "their best" to get on that stage, you don't know what the judges are looking for the day of the show, she may have had what they were looking for last time, and you have it this time.

If we expect to win everytime we step on stage, then we're selling ourselves short.

I'm sorry she's upset, but this isn't a sport for sore losers. If she wasn't happy with her performance then she needs to pick herself up and work harder. There's no need to walk around with a sour face, and quite honestly you shouldn't feel bad for 1 second you worked your ass off for this. I was going to say something else, but I'll stop here. My mouth is to damn big sometimes lol.

I imagine she's just down and feeling sorry for herself, and probably doesn't have the strength or mindset to look you in the eye yet. I can't imagine she'd take it out on you.

In fact, she may end up coming to you later on for advice! I'm sure she just had her expectations up too high and just needs time to feel bad.

Just don't let her rain on your accomplishment. You did fantastic and should be extremely proud of yourself! :)

BUT - just think of this - you had a judge (even though he was being unfair) tell you you had no back & a fat ass. I'm sure you were down, but then you looked for ways to fix this. You even e-mailed the board to get other opinions. Even in your 1st comp, I'm sure you were down, but you jumped at the opportunity to recieve criticism & make yourself better.

Maybe you could tell her something like this to make her feel better?
 
Oh Jens your such a softy,LOL. Your a kind hearted person, hopefully she will get over being down on herself and pick herself up and realize you are not gonna please everyone. It's all part of competing. If she holds this against you Jens then she just really needs to grow up,but hopefully she won't take it there.
 
I agree with everything you all said........ she was kind of a sore loser Saturday as she had her stuff packed up & left right quick!! I'll just keep out of her way for a while - give her a chance to "get over it" so to speak.

It is they built that arena as part of the high school if you can believe that. BTW it is North.

Yeah Toms River has like 19,000 kids in the school system. When they won the little league world series in '98 it was with the a-f team, they have them broken up by alphabet the town is so big. BTW pm if you need any info on the area I can even give you my # in case you get lost on the way up.

I Mapquested it just to get an idea on how to get there - doesn't seem too hard & just under 2 hours.

Didn't realize the area was so big! Wow that's a lot of kids!

Yeah just drop off 195 to rt9 south and you on your way. It will only take you 2 hours if you drive backwards :) .

I have GOT to start eating right tomorrow!! I've been eating crap since Saturday nite & I'm bloated & puffy. I hurt all over & feel sick - my skin is stretched so tight it hurts. I haven't been able to stop myself lately but I feel so sick that I've GOT to reign myself in......I feel COMPLETELY out of control & SO sick...

Got some chicken thawed out & ready to cook & bought some green beans today. Will ask hubby to run to Costco for more eggs & chicken.

The journal will resume tomorrow!!!

Forget that that will take you way out of the way. Take 195 to rt9 south. That will be the fastest way for you. I'm 10-5 north of Toms River North and it only took me an hour and 15 to get to Kaunaville when I competed there last year.

Well don't I have to get over a bridge into NJ first?? Does Rt 9 south hook up with 295??

Jump ovet the bridge the Turnpike or 295 have exits for 195, should may say Shore Points but you want east. 195 will lead you to Rt9. If you take the Turnpike to the GSP that's at exit 127 then you have to go south to get to TR. 195 is closest to exit 98 but the parkway is out of the way for you and will make the trip longer.

THat works. Driving through Jackson at night could be a little tricky you could after you get to 8 just go to Rt9 south if you want the simplest way.

I second Skittles response! It's o.k. to feel sorry for her, but at the same time you worked your butt off to achieve what you did! She just needs to look at it as a competitiona dn if she wants to win she'll have to work harder next time.... Great job by the way!!! I know you have been majorly stressing and you still pulled through!!!

I can remember just a few short months ago when you were contemplating competiting and you were really uncertain about the whole thing... You have really proven that when you set your mind to something anything is possible... So you better be PROUD!! and dont let that whinner at the gym take anything away from that!!! YOU EARNED THIS!!!! Just because she is a poor sport dont feel like you should accommidate her.

and you are not allowed to feel bad about your cheat meals!!!! you earned every BITE!!!!!!!!!

Well I figured I'd follow the diet she gave me previously (and use 40/30/30 macros) since it worked for me before........I might call her up to go see her - but I might not need to......I'll be following the workout program on the thread I posted.......

No doubt. Make sure you talk to the judges afterwards. Pat and Elena in particular usually keep a notebook and jot down notes on each competetor.

**Once I got home is where my day fell apart completely. I'm finding myself COMPLETELY OBSESSED with junk food, primarily sweet things. I'm already thinking of NOT doing the 10/29 show as I don't know if I can do the diet again. I feel like I've been dieting for SO DAMN LONG that I just don't want to diet again. To be honest - I'm enjoying the junk food and I just don't feel like cutting it out - although the Tastykakes are gone now, which is good. My head just isn't "in it" right now. Since I haven't reserved a room for the NJ show or even mailed off my entry fee - I still have some room to think about it/decide - but I feel out of control with my food, yet don't really want to reign it in. I'm between a rock & a hard place right now. I don't feel depressed so to speak, but I'm tired of the restriction & limitations yet I'm tired of how I feel eating like crap. *sigh*

It hasn't even been a week since your last show :)

Remember the changes you made when Tracy took over & the new diet came into play :) This all happened in a few weeks.

It's up to you (3 shows is a lot!) But, remember you still have a month & as long as your back on track by the weekend, you will be ok.

I keep telling myself that (what you said) but I also don't want to use it as an EXCUSE to keep gorging. Again - the Tastykakes are gone - so I'm OK there & I hope the hubby will eat the remaining 3 cookies tonite.

I simply CAN'T throw food away - too many years of Catholic school & a Catholic mom who ingrained in me that it's a SIN to do so........ :rolleyes:

I've got some Pluses tho: I've been back in the gym since Tuesday and I've been back on supps since Wednesday and I've been drinking my Gallon + in water per day. I just need to get the food in line.

I would suggest upping some digestive enzymes, drinking tons of water (1.5-2 gallons), and taking 2 Sesamax 3 times a day (max dose).

P.S. Are you still taking the D-Root? If you ran this, then dropped this completely at once, without, weening off it, I can see that causing 'some' of the bloat/swollen feeling (speaking from personal experience here).

Can you switch to T-Rex if you are not already taking? I went back to T-Rex, helping with Appetite supression BIG TIME for me.

And as far as the wanting those devil foods.. i can understand. Sometimes you just need a break. That doesn't mean going all out and having junk all the time, but we all know on comp diets there is no cheat meals. You've been kicking ass for a long time now and your body is talking to you.

Don't go off the deep end but I suggest you listen to your body. I had to just completely come to terms with the fact that the other two comps I wanted to do were unrealistic. Both emotionally and physically.. it just wasn't healthy for me when my body told me to stop.

That being said there are more comps later... Don't jeopardize your health or well being, not to mention your sanity for a trophy :rose:

You did it once, you learned alot about your body and yourself, how far to push and how hard to push. You can do it again, a month from now, a year from now... You chose.

I took 2 Sesamax today at noon-ish........and upped my Trex today to 2x a day - 1 pill 2x a day, hoping that the appetite suppression will kick in. I'll take 2 more Sesamax with my next meal in about an hour or so.....

I was taking Taraxatone the week before the show, ran out then took D-root - which I stopped cold on Sunday. :worried: The bloat is WAY down - still a little bit there, but a lot less than what it was. The uncomfortable feeling is gone.


And yes - I won't bother with Maryanne from now on - if she wants to be like that, then let her.


Going to shoot for 100% clean tomorrow!! That's my goal!! :verygood:
