BYU didn't want him there. This is a school that doesn't have diet coke anywhere on campus because of the caffeine. When I first moved out here, I had a beer truck job and was delivering in Provo (where BYU is). I got lost and tried to turn around in a parking lot. Turned out it was a BYU parking lot. I had 4 campus police cars stop me and tell me it was illegal to bring alcohol on to the campus. They kept me there for over an hour when I was maybe 200 yards away from the exit.
