intense full body soreness..

my body is incredibly sore, everywhere. the last day i pushed weights was wednesday. my traps feel like ground beef. no trap work since monday has occured. my hammies are shot, and that was last tuesday. i woke up yesterday and my body had just fallen apart. whats going on? im eating as much protien as i can shovel, sleeping 8 hours when possible (thursday night was a very sproratic 5 i think) and taking vitamins. WTF??? did i just hit a little wall or something?
 
uhhh not sure man, you could be getting sick, if it doesnt start to go away in a day or two then start worrying sometimes delayed onset soreness can occur meaning 3 days later, have you upped your intensity?
 
hmmm... well upon looking at my last two weeks, my intensity and workouts have been increasing. especially my last two bench and sqaut workouts. still keepin the 5x5 routines going.

uuuhhh, upon close inspection from last wednesday to this thurdsay i didnt get a true day of rest- if tumbling counts as non rest days. how the hell could i have forgotten to rest??

ill keep an eye on it and push the leg workout out a day or two. i did back and bis today even though im still sore. it didnt seem to affect the workout much, but my pullups were not weighted tonight.
 
Soreness isn't always an indicator of anything, but since it sounds to be very extreme and lasting awhile, it may be an issue. Maybe you just need to adjust to the training still. See how it goes for another week.

If the weights are increasing, all is well.
 
Sounds like you overdid it a bit and need to rest, take it east for a few days, maybe do some low volume in a few days time (might help like an active recovery)... I know the feeling man, I get so motivated and then bam, that motivation pushes me too far sometimes... may be what happened to you, then again it is hard to tell all the way from here... so juggle our replies and make the RIGHT decision....(Even if sadly enough it means laying off and resting)
 
i really would hate laying off, i have goals that i know will be met. the only smart thing to do is rest again tommorow, try to get a massage, some active recovery on monday, and resuming the split again on tuesday or wednesday.

my next bench day will be my bodyweight in a 5x5, and the next squat day is five more pounds. maybe progress just got me a little more motivated than my body wanted to handle.
 
Drink more water.
 
Sounds right, just stay tuned to your body and listen to warning signs if you get any. Sometimes MORE is LESS.... Hopefully not in this case...
 
As dirty d said- drink more water. also, get more sleep, cut back on your training for a week or two, and get yourself some powdered glutamine. Take a tablespoon in the morning in some juice and if you workout, take another tablespoon afterwards.
also, tom t... soreness is not an indication that you got a good workout, but being sore is a reaction from SOMETHING. you can workout well without soreness, but if he's sore, there's a reason.

HAHAHAHA!!!! yeah, thats right. i hopefully will get the massage that i was promised tonight. my glutes and pecs could use some work as well.
