to reattach my tricep ......how long of rehab do i have 2 look forward to, how long after surgery 'till i can lift again ?

Im not sure. Ulter might know, I belief he had some sort of surgery (neck/shoulder or something).

How did you injure it?

Triceps, reattached, curious when did the injury occur? 4-6 months would be my estimate. Very age dependent. Add a month for every generation past your 20’s

Tore my bicepts 6 years ago, still have not recovered, but I am 54

If I remember right, he only tore it about 2 weeks ago tops. In any case, Good Luck and don't rush your comeback like I know most of us would want to lol.

Torn muscle from bone it took 8 weeks from a torn ligament to heal before I could lift at all, do your rehab and therapy diligently

Tore my bi & shoulder in my late 40's took over a year to achieve 80%, it will never be back 100% but i have managed to reach the 95% mark and still holding.

thx everyone, tore it memorial day..... i will not rush it....i'd rather have a better comeback in the long run than start too early.....

i needed to concentrate on my legs anyways....... :)

6 months minimum for complete healing. That's not to say you can't start working it sooner but be careful. Quadseweep had this surgery...twice I believe. I had reconstructive sergery on my elbow and the surgeon warned me that it would be 12 months before everything was completely healed and stable...regardless of how good if felt. Tendons and ligaments are very slow to heal.

never tore anything like that but had back surgery it took a year before i could even think of lifting alot of pain meds and therapy.now after 2 i have got to be very careful what i do.so i can feel fore ya on the long road ahead bro dont rush anything give yourself more than enough time to heal.

Good to hear that you finally got it looked at by a professional. And congrats to taking it slow. Before you know it youll be back in the gym. And youll be hitting it 10 times harder. Injuries and time off are a good time to try to find any flaws in youre training and try to replan things. Youll have a clean start when you get back.

Good luck bro.

Honestly, I have heard GH helps these things heal faster. Ulter had some kind of vertabrae surgery I believe and his doc said it healed faster than anyone's hes ever seen before.

That said, its gonna be a long road, and do not go too fast in recovery. The last thing you want is to reinjure yourself.

^Bump on how you injured it though.

thanks everyone, 6 months will suck.......

this is how I've the injury happened......

i went to a church picnic on memorial day, i hadn't played in over a year ( i love playing tackle football) ......and since i'm at my leanest in over 3 years, i was really quick and in better conditioning than everyone out there.......I'm bragging here but, 3 years ago i was 280 lbs.....i'm at 220 now, it was awesome being the first one down the field on kick offs, blasting around the center and sacking the qb easily ( 4 times)
they had me on the center because this guy was 6'6 about 300-320 and he would drag people around when they tried to tackle him ( i tackled him solo 3 times when they dumped it off to him ) ...... they couldn't run or dump it off to anyone in the backfield because i was wrappin them up quick......anyways, there where a lot of people there and when people would get tired they would just sub people in from the sides.......i played the whole time (2 hours) about an hour and a half into it, they dumped it off to me about 3 yards in the backfield, i got about 10 yards and got swarmed, as i fell i put out my right arm.....when i got up it was little painful (but i've had tendonitis in both elbows for years so ignored it and kept playing )

i believe i partially tore it then, ( the x-rays show a small piece of bone broken off the
corner of my elbow ) i was really sunburned and i knew that i was gonna feel like shit the next day so decided to get bis and tris trained so i could just rest the next day...

i went to the gym ate a meal with some rice and lean beef, took a couple of those ADENERGY pills, bullshitted with some of the staff ( played some dominoes ) and waited for my meal to digest......

i decided to start with skullkrushers and since my elbows always bother me i was warming up at about 55% of my max on this exercise.....completed 2 reps and was in the positive portion of third, about halfway through rep range..... now this makes me a little sick to my stomach every time i remember it and i don't know what happened first because it happened so fast but here goes....... the sounds where, a small ripping noise, a pop, and then my right arm started letting the weight down fast, i pushed the barbell behind me and let go.........my arm felt weird, it wasn't super painful, kind of a combination of an aching, some slight burning and the muscle kinda twitching around......

i know this was real detailed but i thought it would help with any questions you guys might have.......
