Idiots that own pitbulls

People have to realize that if they own an aggressive dog that it needs more attention than your average pet.

What I don't understand is WHY people want to own an aggressive dog. Wouldn't you rather have a loveable pet? Or at least one that can't cause much damage even if it does decide to attack.

I've known plenty of non aggressive pitbulls... just because some are bred to be aggressive doesn't mean they are all fucked up.

Its all in how they are raised and treated. My brother has a pitbull/boxer mix and its very friendly and great with kids. It can play pretty rough sometimes tho.

Even the ones that appear docile can still have a hair trigger. It's like a time bomb just waiting to go off, and the defenders of these dogs are just in denial about it.

I have two, gentle babies. It's all in the bloodline, and how they are socialized around people and other animals. This topic is pretty damn overdone..............so I'll leave it at that.

It's about what they are all CAPABLE of doing IMO.. (Pits, Rotts, Shepherd)

Labs, Retrievers, etc are large dogs and can bite you, but they don't have the hundred PSI jaw strength and Upper body muscles to kill you quickly for the most part.

A Golden Retriever snatched some baby's arm off in an affluent suburb here about a month ago. Two months prior, a Standard Poodle killed it's owner.

I'm a dog lover but I don't see the point in them personally. Keep them away from me and loved ones....it's all good.

They'll never listen, it's almost pointless.

Friend of mine had 2 of them that were the most playful loving dogs you'd ever see. Both were around 120lbs and would walk up to you and lick your face. In their lives, neither ever attacked anyone.

Another friend had 2 (he gave one away). Both had distinct personalities. His female didn't care for people too much but loved children and would let them do whatever they wanted to her. If they annoyed her, she'd walk away, no matter how aggressive the child would get towards the dog. His male was more people friendly.
