I saw the saddest thing at the gym today...

I swear to Jesus Christ my savior! The tat is shitty too. Looks like a fake tatoo but it is real and there too stay!

I guess the whole "rebel" flag deal that goes with most southern rednecks has made me believe they are defenseless.

But, all in all, comparing rednecks and quidos is really like comparing apples and oranges.....

This is funny! Your descriptions are almost right on the money, except that a lot of guidos around here drive real nice cars (benz, Bmw, vettes, etc), not old caddys. Of course, mommy and daddy pay for most of them, with the remaining being financed by the drug trade, etc.:D

Want real rednecks? Come out to western Kentucky. In the void between Owensboro (on the Ohio River) and Bowling Green (near Tenn.), lies the most backwards area I've ever seen or could imagine. When I moved here, I instantly understood where ALL of those stereotypes come from. These people exist, in great numbers here. Outside of the cities, they are the majority. It still weirds me out. I'm from "the country" in Ohio, but the hicks there are nothing. What's really scary, is it's supposed to be twice as bad in the hills of eastern Kentucky.

If you know live in Owensboro, KY i'm sure you know where Evansville, Indiana is. I feel your pain. I used to live in Evansville.

For once Ryan has said something I can agree with. I've lived in plenty of states...and trust me, not only do rednecks exist everywhere, but the "north" rednecks (i.e oregon, vermont, rural maine, and all rural midwesterners) are *worse* than any "good ole boy" from Texas or Alambama.

The fact is that there are many in-bred rednecks, with no culture nor brain..........They are everywhere....I've traveled alot and they exist everywhere.....even in New York, there are Guido's----the equivalent of a New York redneck...

What is the difference in calling all "rednecks" anybody that wears a type of jeans or a cowboy hat or saying that all black people live in poverty but drive nice cars?

Name calling, generalizing and racial profiling is the same.

And yes I am a white guy who sometimes rides horses and wears Wranglers.

Those aren't all rednecks. "Real rednecks" (the origin of the phrase) comes from Appalachian people I believe. Anyway, those folks are country folks, Texans, true Southerners, etc. Rednecks are the ignorant fools which are usually easily spotted.
