Good point. I could probably be a good hitman. I used to shoot 1000 yard competition (started shooting when I was 6), and have a black belt. Too bad I place a high value on human life. Damn morals get in the way of me making $$$.
Anywho, if I thought somone was going to try to bump me off, I would kill them first (even if I thought they were going to hire someone else to do it), otherwise I don't think I could kill someone else. For my own perservation though...without a second thought.

my morals are going in the shitter BBF, so i don't think i'd have too much of a problem with it.
with the right gun i'm sure i'm good from 1000 yards. never shot further than 500, but that was with open sights too.

500 yards is a breeze. 1000 yards if you have never done it is a whole different ball game orb. I shot a crow once at 585 yards (used a lazer range finder). 175 gr sierra game king in a 7 mm rem mag.

I've never tried to hit an animal past 800 though. I've only shot targets at 1000.

I won't travel with fire arms across state lines.. you must supply the firearm(clean! no bodies!) or the money for me purchase one in the black markety in your state.
I prefer handguns used at close range since I like to look my victim in the eye before I send them to meet god. My weapon of coise is an 8-shot 22 revolver with rifle rounds in it... I can squeez off all 8 shots in under 4 seconds and toss away the weapon as I scape.

and yes, iron sights on an M16. i think my personal best was 7 or 8 out of 10 kill shots from that distance. my best on the rage was 42 out of 65 possible points (50 shots total), 40 points or better was Expert. very few people broke 60 points, but IMO (and having done the range quite a few times) getting the 40 points was pretty damn good. they changed the range from having rings around the silohettes (sp) for points to a "black or nothing" standard. that screwed a lot of people that couldn't shoot for shit, but never affected my scores.
rapid fire drills (10 rounds, 2 mags, so you had to change mags halfway through), i'd hit no less than 8 in 60 seconds. i have hit all 10 shots a few times. the biggest factor for me on the range was how new my glasses were.
