I have known some people that have had serious health issues related to steriods.....
umm..i think im just going to answer his question
anyway my question is why do you all do steroids ?
the fact you need the that perfect body/male adonis complex ?
low self confidence ?
professional bodybuilder ?
I have aspirations on possibly turning pro someday...but i want to move up the ladder slowly and see where i can take my body
that one guy johnathan rowe placed 3rd at jr nationals...then won nationals and got his pro card last yr....so anything is possible...id actually laugh at doing this, but ive made so many gains in the past few yrs..i figure...why the fuck not compete at jr nats in a couple yrs?? im averaging 12lbs a yr of pure muscle while improving my condition..so if i can keep that up??? i think i will do well
want to fit in with the juicer crowd ?
Nope...has nothing to do with that really...i do it for me...and i will admit, the attention is nice...everyone likes getting attention to an extent...but thats really not why i do it now...my goals have changed since i started...
is it worth risking your health for a better looking body ? If you have a wife or kids...... why risk losing all that for a better body ?
this was hands down the hardest i was this april 7th for the West virginia eastern USA's.....i look at it that way too, might as well give it a shot while im still young..rather than be older and think about what could have been..ill do the best i can do, and whatever happens happens....i talked to Dareem Charles at my gym a few weeks ago (yes it was really him) and he told me not to worry bout the size game and just put my pkg together like i have been...that was incouraging...and at my show the promotor and a few judges after the show i talked to said i was the total pkg...that was flattering..to have a pro, tell u that (and the judges). So yes..it's definately worth it...i try to use lower dosages (for the level im at) and not to overdo it while taking time off between cycles and getting blood checkups, etc...but yes steroids can and will wear age the body a bit quicker with extended use for prolonged periods at high dosages..but for me, having a few yrs shaved off my life for the benefits...is DEFINATELY worth it (for me).
flame me all you want and bomb me all you want, I am from the C & C board and can replemish all my karma in a heartbeat. I dont even care about karma anyway
I have no intentions on flaming...but steroids are a sensitive subject if you word your questions wrong ...so just learn from this..and maverick, do listen to the guys on this board who do use anabolics to better themselves..most are actually good guys on here and put their heart into this crazy thing we call bodybuilding, so you gotta respect that. I have nothing against you as i thought the initial question was a good one so im going to give you props for that bro, because people on here do "use" for various reasons...but if you left out the part on "losing family, risking health, losing it all" etc you'd of probably made this thread into a less argumentative one

The comment on family, losing it all etc is what really steamed up the guys here, and they felt u jumped to conclusions on that one, as i did. The fact is, your bud who is having liver problems most likely would have had the liver problems even without steroids, it may have progressed the disease slightly, but not much..just like flex wheeler and his kidney disease, which wasnt from steroids (i think it was the kidney...not totally sure). I hope your buddy is okay when things are all said n done though, if he has good doc's he'll be just fine, the liver can regenerate I believe, when having liver transplants, etc (but eh...i dont know much about the above subj..so ill move on..). But anywhoo...that is why i use steroids, hope i answered ure questions...and i dont regret it one bit
