I Have Hit Rock Bottom And Look Pathetic

Most people are probably going to disagree with me right now but I am not gonna follow the crowd. I was in just about exactly the same boat as you a painfull divorce led me to attempt to drink myself to death for a few years and I let myself go. My fricking liver just would not quit. Anyway I eventually got a DUI/DWAI blah blah and I realized I could actually hurt someone else so I fixed my problem. First and foremost you have to mentally learn to live again. People will always die, relationships will end, tragedies will happen in everyones lives let go of those things. Sure grieve but let them go the longer you hold onto them the worse you will be. plain and simply quit beating yourself up you deserve to better your life everyone does so quit holding on to things you can not control. Secondly, at your age it does get harder so I would try just HRT a very small amount of testosterone per week (Maybe 200/mg week) it will help improve your mood, and give you more energy increase your libido etc. that was what I was prescribed for HRT. Most people here are here to get huge, but I suggest to you that not for getting huge but for the reasons I just mentioned mood and energy mostly. I will be 36 here soon and you may have some younger guys telling you that is BS but they do not know yet as you were probably like me and could not even pinch an 1/4 inch of fat anywhere on your body in my 20's! Never give up, Keep looking up! You deserve it and get your head back on straight firstly
I tend to agree. If you were in late 20s or early 30s, I'd agree with the advice of getting your weight down, then going on test. But given that you're 40, without a little test boost, you're more likely to get discouraged at your lack of progress. So I see no harm in 100/200 mg of cyp a week and maybe .5 mg eod of Arimidex. That, with a strict diet, good lifting routine (try HST--very good for weight loss and strenthening tendons before you go heavy), and cardio on an empty stomach first thing in the morning at least three days a week. Six months of that, my friend, and you may not be 230 and ripped, but you'll look pretty fucking good.

AT your age, a little test and HGH would help you in more ways than one. Some test, HGH, t3, a lot of cardio and a great diet - you can make a very impressive transformation in 6 months.

Hey dude,
No worries. Training and nutrition is ageless, meaning that you can feel like crap today and begin feeling better tomorrow.
Check out the thread I started about Transformation dieting and training.
This should help you.
Cheers and good luck/.

what is the thread link to this transformation diet and training

i believe this to be true somewhat....i cannot understand the free testosterone being the same as when i was 18-22. i have heard it drops off sharply per year after age 35.

Damn sorry to hear about your divorce -- but there is a point past the "grieving" stage where you only hurt yourself the longer you let your life pass by. Sometimes all it takes is a little change in mentality and a new focus to get things back on the right track. Its 2006 so sounds like its time!

I'll let you guys handle the aas / no aas stuff.. .In the interim DEFINITELY get your diet & training back in order. I'm 41 & know all about the aches & pains of age, but I can also tell you that the longer you go WITHOUT training, the more aches & pains you will have - most of mine get aggravated from NOT training. I've also had to rethink my training goals - lifting heavy isn't the greatest thing for me anymore. I've switched up the whole training muscle groups thing 6 days/week and gone to a very simple 3x/week, full body - squat / push /pull w/ 5 min cardio warmup + "mobility warmup" (sorta like running football drills), some static stretching - particularly on my hip flexors and shoulders - and then lift - squat / press / pull. I also do 2 exercises of each in a superset format so I've got more of an aerobic flavor to what I'm doing. And then cardio. On the "off days" I focus on abs / core strength stuff & more cardio.

And diet -- get your diet in shape - just cleaning out the shit (lol .. the colonic thing was a great start!) will help to get your mental focus in a better place. You might consider Oxycalm from AF Store as a supp. Take a look at all their stuff - dunno if AIFM helps as well. I LOVE Thermorexin & Cardio Breeze for kicking up my training. If you have appetite issues you might consider Hoodia (I've used VPX Dietex w/ huge luck -- it doens't not make you hungry but rather seems to turn off the cravings, u just have to remember to eat -- but note it doesn't seem to be 100% works for everyone - worked for me - I know people it didnt' do shit for...)

Good luck.

Here's another thought - esp when my diet has gone to shit & particularly my professional life has sucked donkey balls, I've loaded Inositol powder in my protein shakes - its a B vitamin but seems to help settle down my depression a bit. There are other things that can help as well, but that seemed to also be a good thing for me.

So middle-aged guys can't pull some iron, huh? I don't wanna sound touchy,(no need to single anyone out, yu know who you were ;) ) but being older than you doesn't mean we're dead.
Don't get me wrong, a litle bit of test can be a good thing, but you're already fitting him for a crutch when you don't know if anything is broken yet. The human body is still it's own best healer. If it were me, I'd give it it's chance to set things in order before looking elsewhere. Having the confidence in yourself to do what needs to be done is what drives everything else. If a cycle or HRT works, it works. But it's the same for us over 40, useage is merely a tool, not a substitute for handling your business.

I would recommend starting a journal on here once you decide on a diet and training program. I have dropped 30+lbs and 10% BF in 4 months w/ the help of the bros/ladies on EF.

As for the AAS go for it. You are 40 and don't produce much I would guess. You could easily go see a doc and get on HRT and TRT so your legal risk would be zero. My number 1 suggestion is if you decide to do them get blood work done first - super important.

It drops off gradually, not sharply...about 3% per year after 35.

I am 40 and not everyone needs HRT; especially at our age. It's worth having your doctor check out your total and free test levels but don't start treating a problem that you don't really know exists yet.

Ok, that last part sounds preachy to me and I don't want this post to be like that. I also went through a divorce and everytime I tried to get "back to normal" right away I slid further down into the hole. You have to get out gradually.

Whether you start a cycle now or not has little to do with achieving your ultimate goal. You need to be able sustain a lifestyle of exercise and healthy eating. I agree with the earlier poster who sugested that a test cycle would put you on an emotional rollercoaster and you don't need that right now.

My advice is make changes gradually; you can't get to 230 and ripped with 18" arms overnight. For me personally it always works best to start the exercise regimine first. Get to the point where you're lifting 3-4 times per week and doing cardio 3 times per week. Once you're investing all that effort on a consistent basis, you'll want to change your diet to maximize your results.

Once you're back into the lifestyle, then throw in some juice. And again from personal experience, at 40 I get more muscular and leaner on tren ace even with a crap diet. But the sides are really tough to bear and the recovery is brutal. You never get something for nothing.

Good Luck!

I agree completely. Your comments are very much in line with my thoughts if it is I you are referring to. I did not say that "middle-aged guys can't pull some iron". I simply said it gets a little more difficult with age. I am 36 by the way and do not feel as good as I did when I was in my early 20's until being On cycle. I say it will help make it a little easier for him by enhanced mood, and energy. That's what steroids are all about last time I checked. making it just a little easier. Before anybody starts flaming that comment I DID NOT say it makes it easy just helps make it a little easier to achieve your goals. Otherwise why else would you risk taking them!
