I drove a Bugatti Veyron this weekend.

Good car. Fun times.

pffft....I drove a Dodge caravan yesterday.

Holds more cargo and gets superior gas mileage.

Ideal for my secondary source of income that involves hauling dead bodies (or soon to be) around. Try doing that in a Bugatti without getting noticed.

I was just planning on having him pay for them

that sounds more accurate

It´s a million dollar car. Other then being able to sell it, it would be worth about 200 dollars to ME.

about the same as a typical pair of shoes.

I just dont care about cars. certainly not sports cars

Whoopti do. I had a bowl of cereal with oats.

you´re a snob man. Disappointing. Before you were talking about hard inspired entrepeneurship and thinking of the future and building a strong foundation for your family etc.

Now you´re playing with this sort of crap. This kind of car is to me, the peak of how money =/= class

Don't buy it!

That lady who said we could borrow B-2's from her husband? never heard back from her. She was also our source for jet fuel.

May take that much money to get the fuel from clandestine sources.

Again....don't tell anyone.

LOL! You are so full of shit! If you actually drove one, you would have alot more to say than the above. Keep dreaming, son.

Not true.

I doubt I'd even mention driving one. Plus I'd likely pass if given the chance.

That kind of thing sits low on the list for most of us...I think.

If I had Matts income, my values would change and I would think the Bugatti was cool..however.

A Bugatti Veyron ? There's like 5-6 of them built yet and either you know the people from Bugatti/VW very well or you're in fact Jeremy Clarkson because the car hasnt been homolgated yet in the US and VW is very picky with who can test them. And BTW folks, the whole production is already sold. So even if I had a Billion dollar, they wouldnt sell one to me.

i want to hear what 4 turbo's on a car sounds like. Why the hell does it have 7 gears??? I heard steve saleen got scared of that car so he's making the S7 into another model S7-R maybe!??! he stated in a interview it will have 1002hp (making fun of the 1001hp veyron)

sooooo matt now that youre covered in flak/shit for this thread, the least you could do is oblige curious people like me and chat a bit about what you thought about the car. i love high end machinery. how was the ride?

Haters (that's most of you) eat a dick. The pics are coming.

Velvett - the thread is going exactly as it should. Assnozzles are adding their own flavor. This thread is just a mirror of the people who post on it. Some of you are hilarious.

Mr dB - I got in and they made me sign a waiver. I didn't get to go over 60-65MPH, and I got to drive it for about 15 minutes around Amelia Island. It's very low to the ground, noisy, and it feels like it wants to run even in the lower gears. I didn't get to stress it in any meaningful way.

Still, interesting experience. I also drove a 2006 Maybach 57S. :)

I am the only one that requested pix. Am I a hater? :worried:

You know someone at VW or are you a car journalist ? Cause I doubt this was a test drive for a potential customer. All their units were sold 4 years ago so someone at VW did you a favor even if you werent a customer. And did you drive it on a private track ? As I said before, I was under the impression that the Veyron hadnt been homologated yet in the US.

As I said, you must know the right people cuz VW even refused most journalist's request for a test drive except for guys like Jeremy Clarksson/Top Gear and others well known folks.

You = wrong.

You're still a good mod and a hell of a nice guy. But you're just plain wrong. There were numerous Veyrons in Fl this weekend, and many people test drove them. When I get home I'll get some pics up

I didn't get to stress it... :( but that doesn't make you any less wrong.

No hatin homes...the veyron is my dream ride. :)

How was the maybach? I always imagine it as being a big fast boat that can't corner.

That thing drives like a space ship - it moves with such smoothness you don't realize you're touching land.

Well I have to see that cuz Bugatti barely had a dozen ready few months ago and they were picky, one very well known journalist here got his request denied cause they felt him as a threat for the car. Top Gear guys even admitted that in order to test drive it, they had to lick many boots...

Hey I'm not hating nor saying you're full of it. Your experience is most likely real but I'm sure you had this privilege cause you knew the right person. I doubt this was a free-for-all.

whats some of the numbers for it, i dont know. whats top speed? horsepower? and price?

Top speed is 407km/h, Horsepower is almost 1000hp. Thing does the 0-60 in 2.8...

matty is right,i did see on the news that bugatti had a bunch down there the past weekend

Cool !

Matt, next time let me know. I'll take a flight to FL and test drive one. No kidding :)

spongebob said:
holy shit on the 0-60. like a damn jet being catapulted off the flight deck.

It's like a bike. That has so much power that they had to make it AWD. RWD only would have been a living hell.

that's reserved for george's new "Delta Club"
900/year
more to follow
get tboy over on the spiracy theory part

dual double barrelled tubes
some things you don't fuck with
and the front is "edsel"

lose the cheap looking ghetto wing while we are at it
yeay,yeah it's "functional"
this car will likely never be pushed to the envelope to such an extent that the wing will save your ass
it looks exactly like who it was intended for
an arab oil sheik

otherwise I like the styling and body lines
dual the ass pipes(round too)
lose the faux rakish nose and rice wing
and you got a winner

The engines for the Tiger I were developed specifically for them by the Maybach company of Berlin (Maybach-Motorenbau GmbH). The Maybach company, under the technical leadership of Karl Maybach, produced the engines for all the medium and heavy German tanks of WWII.

The first Tiger engine was a V-12 water-cooled gasoline engine with a capacity of 21.33 liters (1302 cubic inches) and a power output of 650bhp at 3,000rpm. This engine was the Maybach HL 210 TRM P45

the irony being that only a few Arabs and Jews can afford the current Maybachs'

heh...friggin f*i makes it pretty hard to file a FOI Act request with them. They make you go to their Honolulu web site for the specifics you need. Just an example of the hoops they use. I waited for several minutes for one of the PDFs to download. No pregress at all.

Could talk about others....only the N*A made it easy.

I accomplished the same trick while tripping on acid and driving my '73 Mach 1

well I know you're around my age and thus have some "muscle car" experience
the car was "throaty" loud and powerful
with 70's era suspension accouterments
and then we got stuck in the sand
that landed the "spaceship" and we piled out
I remember that night last yesterday
and the story gets better

I'm thinking your employer wouldn't be too keen on you creaming over VW's and other former Reich manufacturer's output.
story
I have a very nice,well framed print of ME-262s
I got it cheap from my brother-in-law who has a frame shop
some Jewish lady bought it for her husband(also Jewish) who apparently is an aircraft aficionado
the print was returned
