I decided to start doing cardio/abs at 5:30AM

I decided to go do cardio a minimum 4 days, at 5:30 AM. I am at work at 7:30 am so thats why its so early. Since having shoulder surgery Ive gotten a little soft and the doc wont let me do full workouts, but i can do full cardio. I doing 3.5 miles to start, gradually working up speed until Im at 6.0 on the treadmill. The whole distance takes 45 minutes. The treadmill says 450 calories burned but probably not accurate, i dont care. I will get to 4 miles then hold steady and consistently to see what happens bodyfat wise. Diet is altered accordingly, of course. Who else does early morning cardio?
 
I started to for a couple of weeks, but I couldn't keep up with the schedule. Although I felt great for most of the day, I have a hard time getting to sleep at night, so waking up that early eventually just made me feel wore down. I have a week off of work for the holidays, I'm oping to re-structure the schedule and see if I can fit in some early morning cardio, atleast on off days.
 
I also started getting up at 5:20 and doing cardio for 30min during the summer, did it for a couple of months and it worked great! Same thing with me, work 7-5 M-F so it's really a great way to not only get in some well needed intense cardio but also a really nice way to lift your energy in the morning. After a long day at work, and then weights after work on certain days, I hit the wall by about 10PM, definitely helps you sleep. Unfortunately I got out of the habit and have been fitting it in here and there when I can, got to get back on track.

Best way to motivate myself was just to look at it in terms of what I would be doing with that extra half an hour - sleeping and hitting the snooze alarm every 10 minutes; not a valuable way to spend your time!
