?...ok man, but I don't understand at all how Debaser "crossed that line" before you called him an asshole (or somesuch). What did he do? As Bill O'Reilly says, tell me where I'm going wrong here
I read his post three times and found nothing wrong with his advice. Sometimes caution is the better part of valor, and given the severity of Ian's reported injuries, I agreed w/ Debaser to an extent: I think lighter training's not a bad idea, but I'd still consider some therapy, and wouldn't rule out taking off enough time to let things fully heal. That'd mean less lifting today, but would ensure a lifetime of hard lifting "tomorrow," you know?
I respect a man who will say something at the risk of being unpopular, so much so that I will stick up for him if I think he's being treated somewhat unfairly. Solely based on Debaser's advice to Louden I don't see anything objectionable, anything to suggest how quitting training forever is desirable, etc. You understand where I'm coming from.
All that said, Ian's back at it, and sounds like things went well. Kudos, LSI'd still advise you to monitor your joints carefully, but given the kinds of poundages you've reported in the past, I'd have to guess these workloads shouldn't aggravate your injuries much. If they do start bothering you again down the road, you can seek the appropriate treatment at that time, no?
Hey GuldKat! I have no problem with someone speaking thier mind. I say contriversial shit all the time. Just dont like people who act as if thier words are fact. Its the presentation more so. The constant negativity and "I cant" attitude accompanied by the hardgainer excuse and articles that he just copies and pastes with no explanation dont make me respect his opinion too much. Debaser argues with every thread, and bad arguments at that. Im not the only one who sees this.
