I adopted a kitty from the kill shelter

Buy a snake and feed the fucking cat to it. It's kind of hard to watch, but people are giving free kittens away all the time.

i have one you fucking piece of trash

I 2nd that, nothing wrong with owning cats...especially if they're cool. You can have shitty cats and awesome cats, same goes with dogs. Snakes are really the only pets i don't get...what the shit do you get out of owning a snake? It'll slither around on your arm musing to itself how fortunate you are it's not the paleocene era

A cool story, by hansel:

I had a golden retriever growing up. Great dog, followed me around and always ready to play and rough-house at least in her younger years. Was the queen bitch of the litter too so pretty good guard dog.

Fast forward a decade and gf and I took in a stray cat that was hanging around her sister's gym building. It was winter and cold so it was pretty much starving to death (declawed). Her family's cats didn't get along with it at all so we had to take it. Vet checked it out and it was clean. I was still reluctant as I never had a cat and have always heard bad things.

Well, now after nearly a couple years with him I have to say he gives my dog a run for her money. Very low maintenance animal, and he's friendly as hell. Runs down stairs when we come home and rolls over for a belly rub. Likes to chase his toy remote control mouse, and loves to play-bite and swat at my fingers underneath a door.

Another weird thing you'd never think a cat would do....

Even after I take a shower and it's wet in there he'll still jump in and walk around shaking his paws. Maybe it helps clean them. That's another thing, he's very clean.

Also when I'm gaming he'll often curl up on my lap and purr his heart out.

He has some spunk too though. One early morning when we first had him I felt something pop me on the nose and it woke me up. Didn't know what it was and a few seconds later it happened again a little harder...I look up and there he is sitting above my pillow looking at me like "What?" lol. He likes to rough house just like my dog did too.

I think there are a few key factors to having a good cat.

1. He's a stray, and thankful someone took him in.
2. He's declawed, so can't wreck furniture.
3. He's male, and from my experience male cats just seem to have a better demeanor than females.
