sorry to hear you had such absentee parenting

hopefully it made me a better parent.
btw, I did NOT grow up poor, as in bino's typical EF story. I grew up rather wealthy. also, my stepfather never hit me- it was just my mom.
my stepdad didn't speak to me for 2 years though. from age 13-15. not one word.

I got my ass spanked hard. I can tell you , I never got out of hand in public after that :D My cousin , never got spanked and he was out of control in public places.

All they had to do was threaten to tell my Grandma... Grandma was under 5' tall, and about 95 lbs, but GERMAN! I needn't say more.

Spanking, couple of belts, once back talked real nasty to my dad and he was gonna slap me and kinda changed his mind in the middle of it so he hit me with just 2 fingers in the mouth, still hurt as hell.... and once got hit with a tube in my behind (pvc/thin plumbing kind) because he couldnt find the belt and it was handy... :worried:

my parents kept a bunch of jars in the basement, and each one had an aborted fetus inside. whenever i misbehaved my parents told me they regretted having me, and made me sit in the fetus room

I used to collect flowers when I was young

I still remember when an adult figure Crushed them for no reason......

And no Im not gay.

I also remember in catholic school the intimidation of me by teachers cus I was not Catholic

Violence in any form is NO GOOD.

We are reasoning human beings, you reach people by the use of higher function/reason, care, not through fear.

I had a paper route for a couple of years in grades 5 and 6. :) We moved before 7th grade, so I had to give it up. Didn't get a real job again until I was 15.

and i believe you, but you didn't need it to put food on
the fam's table like every other hardscrabble ebro.
families that take in vietnamese refugees aren't
gonna be struggling too bad.
