How to become bigger and stronger!!!

Besides the movie Pumping Iron this post has to be one of the most motivational tools for me. Im 6'0 205 13%bf and i have jsut started to try to cut up untill i read this post. I went to the grocery store and went nuts thinking to myself i must finish this in one week. My goal a year ago was to get to about 200 now i want 230lb

I wish i was tall...

I started to go to the gym and wanted to be huge.. i still do but i'm only 5'7"

I will look like such a damn fool if i get huge at this height. :(

I think it's best to eat according to your body type. If I don't eat over 5000 cals/day...forget it I don't grow. I need to eat massive amounts of food, especially carbs to put on any type of mass. Sure, if I don't exercise and sit on the couch all day eating 5000 cals. I get really fat, but, when I hit the gym religiously 4-5 days/ week I won't gain any mass unless I'm stuffing myself with food. I'm 32 and don't do any cardio and I have to eat every 2 hours, even eat tons of junk food and my weight stays the same. Some guys hold onto everything they eat, some guys burn everything off quickly...

b fold...keep it up bro

I'm just turned 18 two weeks ago.. 5 weeks ago I weighted 175lbs, now 5 weeks later I weight 186 :inflate:. I'm eating like a pig. Even though I'm eating like a pig, I dont look like one. I have bench competition March 1st..gonna try to lift 350 or more. Its a pound for pound lift for the teens, I'm eating and trying to get as big as I can. When I get there I wanna go home on top :destroy:

May not be much weight, for around here I think I can get them

i dont know if i missed it, but, how much was all of this food?

I'd like to know, too. I'm going to the grocery store tonight, and I think I might try bfold's diet. I'm a powerlifter, eventually I want to be a 350+ superheavyweight. This diet may be the ticket.

God, I love this shit. ;)

I would spend around $50 a week on food...sometimes much less if I had left overs or they ran specials.

Just finished eating a home made double cheese-burger, some nachos and cheese and a heeping table spoon of peanut butter...

Today I've also eaten a ham and cheese sandwhich with 200G+ meat, 2 chicken breasts, 2 packages of almonds, 1 kraft cheese single... Plan to eat at least one more meal...

Bfolds advice has sent me from 178-200 lbs since August..
Went from 178-200 by sept... cut down to 190... went up to around 205, cut back to 190.. and am sitting at around 200 again right now STRONGER than ever! Bigger pecs, bigger legs, bigger back.... If you want to grow.. take this mans advice!

picked up 24 chocolate peanut butter Designer WHey bars, big bottle of fish oil caps and a bag of ground flax seed for 20 bucks today

i love that bargain store

MMMMmmm...
Just ate two more burgers to top off my night....

I want some chinese now Louden... your weiner!

I like
Sweet and sour pork, Honey garlic pork, lemmon chicken, chow mein, fried rice, steamed rice.... beef broccoli.. yumm.. damnit.. i've already polished off most of the meat in my fridge...

Im HUNGRY!!!

Mmmmmm, burgers. I just had two for dinner. Grilled the buns a little, melted some low-fat cheese (post-workout, keep the fat down!), and topped the juicy meat off with some onions. Fan-bloody-tastic.

Talk of Chinese food has got me in the mood for a nice Yum Cha (lunch type arrangement where they keep bringing around various dishes, you pick whatever you like and pay by how much you eat... my girlfriend is from Taiwan and knows all the best stuff to order... pure bliss!!! :D).

I love pork lo mein, and General Tso's chicken. And egg rolls. And wanton soup. Jesus, this thread always makes me fucking hungry as hell. :D

DAmnit.. I had just rolled out of bed and all my last night cravings had subsided... I'm almost positive I'm running to this local establishment that hooks you up with the hugest plate covered half with chicken chow mein, half with steamed rice, and topped off with the hugest lemmon chicken breast!

Looks like I know what Im eating for lunch!

Wahey, a truckload of meat was consumed for dinner tonight!

Got a bench-based workout coming up. Can't wait. Means I get to load up on food again afterwards :D

Right now Im scarfin back a can of tuna, about 350g of cottage cheese, a handful of parmesan and a handful of cheddar, some salsa and mixed vegetables are stirred up together...

Man, 2 or 3 more weeks and I can grow again. Trying to drop a few pounds right now, just to enhance my speed and jumping, and yeah, to look a little better.

I thought I would add a little bit of info I have learned along the way:

I am currently 6'3'' and 315 lbs pretty lean. I have been "bulking" in other words trying to gain weight since I was 17, and I just turned 23. I played d1 football and never used anything (yeah I was the one idiot who stayed natural) and went from 200 lbs my freshman year of hs to 320 lbs my junior year of college. For the record I am enhanced as of mid last year. My diet (I laugh when I call it a "diet") is similar to b-fold's grocery list with a lot more variety. These are some things I have learned about eating as a strength athlete (I play defensive tackle, its close enough).

1. Don't stress over counting calories, grams of protein, ect. This is the fastest way to get frustrated and burn out

2. Learn what is in the common foods you eat and memorize it. This will enable you to have a sense of how much is enough, so as not to undereat, but if all else fails and there is no way around it for a particular meal see rule 1.

3. Be redundant. Eat protein from as many sources as you can. Eat more protein than you need in each meal, it is better to err on this side than the other. My favorite meal is 10 egg whites 3 whole eggs scrambled with 3/4 lb of ground beef and a cup of cheese. After that I eat 4 cups of oatmeal with 1/2 cup brown sugar. I drink about 1/4 - 1/2 gallon of skim milk during the meal.

4. Drink skim or 2% milk with everything. Drink at least a gallon a day.

5. Add a protein shake to the first and last meal of the day. Know what kind of protein it is and what kind is best. In general you want a mix of whey isolate, calcium caseinates, and free amino's.

6. Buy in bulk. Cook in bulk. BBQ's should be performed as often as weather permits

7. If you wake up in the middle of the night to piss, stumble your ass to the kitchen and make a shake with some natural pb and oatmeal in it. Calories+Bonus meal = good

8. When you get a craving, listen. Listen to your body in general. I have put away some incredible meals when my body was craving a certain type of food.

9. Every so often when you get tired of shoveling food down your throat constantly and you lose your appetite and drive to consume- take a break...refer to rule number 1. What happens to me is after a prolonged period of eating 6-9 thousand calories a day my body gets tired and I can't get an appetite. So every month or two, depending on the kind of training I am doing, I fast. I literally do not eat a bite for a day or so and drink a ton of water and coffee. It cleans my system and gives the digestive system a much needed break. Some may disagree but I think this sort of cheat day for a person trying to put on size is important...it won't kill you, you will not shrink, it will probably be better for growth in these situations than forcing down food.

O.K. I have stepped off my soapbox:D

i just started bulking yesterday, im 17 and turn 18 in august, im 6'5" 217 pounds as of today. im lookin to be 250 pounds by then end of the year.

Thisisi the best post I have ever read on any discussion board. I came across it the other day again, it just keeps rising from the ashes, and the reason is because this is all there is to it. Hard work, heavy eating, and plenty of sleep is the magic recipe for success. I just wanted to bump it up.

I just polished off a massive bowl of chili. It had ground beef, beens, elbow macaroni, sour cream, and shredded cheese in it. :D

awesome Know the feeling. 200 has been a goal of mine for a long time. 190 is my heaviest on a full stomach This post has inspired me greatly thanX everyone

Right now I am not in the financial spot to purchase a lot of groceries. I've been eating a lot of hamburger, tuna, milk, oatmeal, rice, pasta, and veggies... The strength coach for MSU also gave me a lot of gatorade mix and gatorade bars to eat...

I'm just doing all that I can...and my family is doing what they can to help me.

I am weighing around 272-282 (depending on the day) but I have never been this lean. I have some pretty freaky veins, I'm in decent shape, and I am as strong as ever...

whatever your eating...its working. you look even bigger now bc of bein more lean bc i was thinking you gained a lil at first.

A lot of it has been that I have been serious about 2 things...
1) Training my abs hard and regularly
2) Being an athlete

Thanks guys...

just my .02. as important as quantity and quality of food is, it is equally important to eat at regular intervals, especially if you sleep for seven or eight hours per night (which i dont). when i have a solid breakfast and eat every three hours or so, training imporves, no mood swings (probably related to stable blood sugar?) and have more energy and mental acuity. if you rise in the morning and have a sammy davis breakfast, i.e. two black coffees, a danish and a few marlboros, forget about making any gains. proper nutrition and feeding frequency requires as much discipline as whatever traing methodology you are following.

Swain I get three squares a day at a school caf, I use to hate the caf but now I love it cause I know how to utilize nutrition. Plus, the workers let me take home hard-boiled eggs, salad, and subs..........

Agreed. I weigh 300 lbs. because I eat like a 300 lber. The only way I will reach 320 lbs. is when I start eating lik a 320 lber.

Well. . its 1:34 CST. . and its time to eat something why I work on quantitative data. . .oh and while checking the latest threads at EF lol.
