Ironically, very few of you have posted that Junta left the building....and then came back to thrash Costa some more. That's where Junta fucked up.

I have friends in Reading and have skated at that same arena before. A lot of people in Reading think that Junta should have left the building and kept walking away. I think Junta could have received probation if he had never returned to beat Costa some more.

That is the risk you take when you fight someone...one punch could be deadly....so think about it the next time you want to push someone's adams apple thru the back of their throat.

did you know that this incident wasn't the first time the accused committed an act of violence? He was convicted of domestic violence in 1991.

Yet another example of the U.S.'s inefficient judicial system. In the ideal, or even near-ideal judicial system, this man would have already been in prison.

He got what he had coming to him.

Oh, well, it would definitely be difficult to convict him of first degree murder. True, the fact that he left and then returned and killed the victim, accident or otherwise, would suggest premeditation; however, it's possible that he did not intend to kill him. That's why I would have liked a second degree murder charge better.

The guy even said to a cop proudly that he got a few extra hits in as he was leaving the scene. That is what compelled the judge to extend the sentence for another 6-10 years. The guy was happy he beat the little guy to death.

Junta obviously knew he was a lot larger than the little guy and he still kept beating him after he knew that he was in control. How many people would even go that far into beating someone who is considerably smaller than them??? I look at it as if it was a 14 yr. old kid coming up to me talking shit..Im not even going to waste my time and I wouldnt hit him unless I had to defend myself. But one punch would be sufficient to subdue the kid...Same thing with this 260Lb guy on the 150Lb guy.

He knew exactly what he was doing and he was proud of it. He showed no remorse until after he found out he was going to get in trouble for what he did. His regret and sorrow for the case is just an act to get his ass off the hook. Which Im glad he didn't get.
I hope he gets ass rapped every night by some 350Lb bubba.

Im surprised anyone on this board has sympathy for this fool. How is this any different from a big kid that beat up the little kid on a schoolyard. He used his size to his advantage and went beyond necessary force. Fuck him.

Man you actually think that when someone gets attacked by another person they are supposed to know just how far it will go? There are no rules in this. Things can get out of hand very quickly and yes people can die.

this is exactly why street fighting is illegal. because someone can get injured seriously. its really rather simple.

And guess what, 2 men fighting is mutual combat. Yes they are both going at it, and they like it. If not, one can always try to run away or not get into the fight in the first place.

explain how Costa can run from Junta if he's on the ground half-beaten to death already, and prolly unconconcsious. and then Junta comes back into the rink and begins thrashing him again. i'd like to hear this one.

Never assume that when you get into a fight the other man will be WISE enough to not seriousley harm you. Death is a very real danger in physical combat. We are not very different from animals in this respect.

you are correct, when you get into a fight, you better expect anything. now, if me and you are fighting, is it ok for me to pull a knife or gun out on you. you said there are no rules. and always assume that when you fight someone that you very may well kill that person, and that is against the law.

im really not surprised by some of the responses on this thread. society has gotton away from personal accountability and responsibility lately.

fighting is illegal, therefore, when you kill someone due to your actions, it is not a accident. it was not an accident he walked back into the building and continued to thrash him to death, literally.

poor ol' mr. Junta, he gets 6-10. of'course, he'll be able to exhaust the courts with appeal after appeal. and there's always parole with good behavior.

mr. Costa recieved death for his punishment. no appeals, no parole.
