Look at the tree alignment....this was one steep climb, despite not looking it in the pics

This was my first time at GFM. I usually go on secluded/challenging trails. At first it sucked, but once you get away from all the tourist crap it's actually very nice. The trials are a lot more challenging than I expected once you get back into the deeper parts. I ended up having a blast.

The zoo is about half way up the mountain. It's small. They had otters, bald eagles, cougars, black bears, and deer. That's about all.

Grandfather Mountain isn't far away from me at all. Good hiking. If you want some great hiking, climb Old Rag Moutain and Shenandoah Falls in Viriginia.
