High reps lighter weight vs lower reps heavier weight

You guys are making me feel dumb with all of these big words. The only thing about all of the research and theory on bodybuilding is if you hang around long enough, someone will negate the theory. Do what works for you. The consensus from reading this is that more people are getting better results with heavy weight. I am a big fan of the Mike Mentzer routine. I go in and warm up a body part and then pile on as much weight as I can possibly push for 3 to 6 reps, go to failure and go home and eat. It works for me.

There are too many variables to ansewer this question things to consider -

Speed of rep, rest between sets and days, exercise compound or leverage action, assitance how much is you and how much is your partner, diet for recovery, ect...

These are some of the reasons all training methods can be disproved. It is up to you to know your body and your responses to heavy or light weights (fast or slow twitch fibers) everyone has different %s of each. Not trying to dodge your question, but all ways are good and all ways are bad keep a journal and see where you respond the best.
 
Right now im doing high reps, very controlled, with a full range of motion.
I was doing abou 4-8 reps............gotta change it up every once in a while.
 
I get my very best gains in both size and strength when I incorperate both high rep moderate weight sets along with high weight low rep sets within the same workout. I always do alot of sets per workout and I never use really light weights or work with weights that only allow 1 to 2 reps.
