heyy guys im 19 years old and i think i got a hernia. Ive been liting for a year and half now and do it with proper form. But for the last week ive been getting this stinging pain feeling on the right side in between my groin and lower abdomen. I feel the stinging feeling when i cough and press on it.

You think this is serious enough to be checked by a doctor? This is scaring me cuz i dont wanna quit lifting because of this. I love lifiting heavy.
Is there any home remedy treatments for it??

Thanks!!

Your symptoms are not alot to go on as there could be many causes for your condition -- from a compressed nerve in the region to, as you say, a hernia. Your best course of action if you are concerned about it is to have a physician check you out. If it is a hernia, then the corrective procedure is quite quick, But it is important to have it corrected early as further complications can arise the longer you wait.

There are no home remedies to cure a hernia, if that is what it is. Surgery is the only treatment available.

you say when yhou press on it, is it red, inflammed or does it move out on coughing?

seriously there is no way anyone can 100% diagnose you on the net, and hernia's do need to be backed up by proper examination so I'd take Kians advice

what’s up.. Here is the problem with a hernia what it is u damage the wall of your intestine if u feel a lump or it was protruding out of the skin at one point chances are it is the condition is very serous cause the lump can twist or drop lower and cut of the blood flow in that area and kill you . I had the surgery in feb and it was not bad I was back in the gym around April .The point is don’t mess around go to the doctor.

It's very rare for incarcerated hernias, the most serious consequence of unrepaired hernias, to be lethal.

However, eyedea40 is correct. You should see a physician. It's very simple to figure out if you have a hernia. A finger in the inguinal canal and a cough is enough to determine if you have an inguinal hernia.

The reason for early repair is twofold: one, it prevents incarceration; and two, it prevents progression of the hernia, thus requiring more extensive surgery. With regards to incarceration, this is where a small piece of intestine becomes twisted, kinked, or knotted in the hernial space. The intestine cannot be reduced. You experience abdominal pain, vomiting, and inability to pass gas. This is a surgical emergency and although rare, can be lethal. The chances of this happening aren't that large, but it's enough of a worry that repair of hernias is recommended in nearly all cases. In some cases, pieces of the omentum (the fatty layer overlying the intestines but below your abdominal wall) can become strangulated and lose its blood supply. This can set you up for massive sepsis (infection). This usually occurs with abdominal hernias and not inguinal hernias.

The conclusion of all this? Go see your doc! 5 minutes of your time will tell you if you have a hernia or not.

Had the same thing about 5 years ago and it turned out to be a double hernia. Had to have surgery. Back to the gym after 2 weeks, but had to take it easy for awhile. Now Im 100% and kicking ass in the gym. Bro go to the doctor, the longer you wait the worse it can get. Trust me I've been there
