Help with 5 x 5 scheduling...

Up until now I've been training on Mon, Wed, Fri and it has been working very well.

However I am about to start kickboxing on Wednesday nights so can no longer train on Wednesdays. Plus my uni timetable doesn't allow me to train on Thursdays, and Saturday nights I'm usually out till late so I would rather have Sundays off.

So that means the only possible days I can train are Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday...


I'm thinking of training on Monday, Tuesday and Friday... however obviously it is not ideal training 2 days in a row.

My other option is to train on Friday, Sunday and Tuesday. The only issue here is that I sometimes have a few drinks on Saturday night which will probably affect my workout on Sunday.

Which schedule do you think would be better?
 
If you're intent on sticking with the 3-day layout, I think the second option is better. An off day, even with a few drinks, will leave you better prepared for the "Wednesday" workout than trying to do it the day after your heaviest day.

Your available days would fit very well with a 4-day upper-lower setup. The main difference would be squatting twice per week rather than thrice, but decreasing squat volume a bit might not be a bad idea if you're going to be adding another leg-intensive activity.
 
I have similar problem though with boxing. My boxing schedule changed and now i have all all in the same day.

3x5 is in the mornings 11am and boxing starts 8pm. Is it okey to do them on the same day ?

Friday / Sunday / Tuesday would be fine. It's almost like my schedule which is Friday / Sunday / Wednesday. If your drinking Saturday is going to affect Sunday's workout then either drink less or work out Sunday afternoon/evening.
