I am not in a very good mood today. So don't push me. I will try to explain. She has spend so much on credit cards and foolish crap that i have to be tight even with doctors. Like I said she goes to many doctors for many different things. Because she always thinks she is sick with something. She doesn't eat right and does other things that are not healthy. So nature boy why DON"T YOU GIVE ME A FREAK'N BREAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guys, you have to remember with the sheer number of peeps we have on the board, someone here is bound to have gone through this or know someone who has.

curling just wants to get an idea of what may have to happen. He is not looking for a medical diagnosis. And of course the doctor is going to tell you to come in every single time. That is more $$$ into the network for them.

Personally, there was a girl in junior high that was very prone to seizures. At least once a month. When she had them, her mom picked her up and took her home. No need to go to the hospital every single time. As someone stated before, unless it is an extremely ongoing bout that lasts a very long time.

Anyway, AAP is right doctors want as many visits as they can muster due to money. i know nothing on epilepsy however it was always my understanding you didn't need to go to the hospital after a seizure as that is just a symptom of the illness, going to the doctor after a seizure is like going to the doctor after you cough when you have TB. but obviously i am not a doctor of any sorts.

I havent lived in the states since 97, but dont you folks have family doctors anymore? Doesnt anybody have a GP that they KNOW? like, that you see more than once?

some of us do, some dont. im young and relatively healthy so i dont have a doctor as i dont need one. Once in a great while i will go to a local doctor if i need a paper for college signed or something.

US medical care is pretty much the same. all the democratic candidates say they are going to bring about gov. paid medical care if they win the election so things could change alot soon. It'd be nice to have socialized medicine but i dont know if it will happen.

Curling, learn from this. Keep the number of her doctor who treats her for these siezures with you in case of an emergency. Also make sure that number is known by your kids, so they can call him/her if they can't get you. If you think that you were freaking out imagine how your daughter felt.
