Anyone have any tips on how to knock out a cold quick? I have been sick for 3 days and it's driving me crazy. I feel worse each day. I have been taking vitamins, zinc, and zicam, but I still feel like crap. I need to knock this out soon!! Any tips would be appreciated. :D

Ok can we get serious now here people?? I need to get rid of this head cold. It's all in my head. No runny nose, no coughing, no respiratory... my head just feels like it wants to explode. I need help people!

up your garlic intake by a ton, vit c, chicken broth like omega said, and red reishi mushrooms if you can find them.

Thanks Iggy! I am going to the store today so I will get some garlic. I have to cook chicken in the crock today so I will add garlic to the chicken.

Black elderberry is good for boosting the immune system, better than echinacea IMO (it's in a product called Sambuguard). I buy the capsules and take 3 capsules every four hours or so.

As for the garlic, best bet is to roast a few heads and eat the cloves, delish. Hubby and I adore the stuff. A head or two of garlic will kill just about anything :D (you might notice a bit of uh, intestinal distress the next day, though, FYI). You WILL smell like garlic for the next 24 hours.

Thanks Musclemom :)

garlic, vitamin c (between 5000-8000mg spaced throughout the day), get out in the sun if you live someplace warm and sunny (like San Diego, where it's 80 today) :D (Vit D3), oil of oregano, chix soup (good shit, homemade preferably).

Sounds like sinus pressure. Do you not want to take any otc meds? You can use ibuprofen to alleviate pressure too.

Thanks! I have no problem taking otc meds. I was just looking for any and all suggestions. I went to the store and I got garlic, chicken noodle soup, and theraflu. I am already using Vit C, Zinc, multi, and Zicam. I am going to kick this cold in the ass!! I want it gone by Monday.

well you need to get it to drain. If it stay's in your head it's gonna linger for awhile. First you gotta blow it up with some cayenne, that'll drain it. And then along with vit. C.......CoQ10.

All bullshit aside I think I punked the swine with CoQ10. The only sick person I'd been around in the last month was my niece when that mongrel clan side of the family came in for thanksgiving. Apparently they confirmed at the childrens hospital that she did have the H1N1. I got sick a couple days after they left and I started taking CoQ10 immediately. It never hit me hard.....but I also refrained from excersicing for almost 2 weeks. But as far as normal everyday stuff I was fine. I went through finals week with it and it didn't bother me none.

I've been reading lately that resveratrol may also be a big immune system booster. Apparently what makes japanese knotweed such a bitch to get rid of is because of it's massive concentrations of res. It fends off all kinds of chemicals and bacteria and everything else that get's thrown at it by us and nature cause of all that resv. :whatever: But CoQ10 for sure, and "now". It get's less effective the deeper you are into the illness. You take when you start to feel sick and chances are you won't develop full symptoms.....that's been my experience and others I know that were the ones that turned me on to it.

Natural sinus drainage? Eat horseradish or drink a cup of hot soup (or chocolate) with cayenne pepper added (about 1/4 tsp.)

Good luck, I had one last over 2 weeks back in Nov.
I felt WORSE towards the end
Never experienced a cold like it

Thanks Ortiz! Yeah I have been resting. My butt has been on the couch being lazy. I stopped training and although I have a lot of things to do around here, I am leaving it alone right now.

most PM type cold medicine is awesome, pop it at night and you´ll sweat a lot and feel a bit better in the morning, they cause drowsiness so take only at night or if napping.
