Great high end Steakhouses you've been to

Chili's and Ground Round. :D Seriously, Ruths Chris is the shit. Also Manny's and Murray's here in Minneapolis.

I have wanted to go to Ruth Cris for a while. There's another called Charlie's Steakhouse which is very high end and is supposed to be very good. But for just a flat out awesome steak, I'd say Cattlemans here in the city I live in. It's a whole in the wall country restaurant that has THE best steaks I have ever had

Stang,
Charlies was very very good last I went there about 3 years ago.
Probably still is...

As for run of the mill places, Outback's Ribeye is very good Med Rare.. Anything else there is only OK.

Coerper's 5 O'clock Supper Club
Milwaukee

if you should ever find yourself in milwaukee, this place is a MUST. it's a total dive but it's always packed, so be prepared to wait - it's worth it...the steaks are the best.

Outback is okay....for a regular chain-type food place. But it sure as hell doesn't measure up to 'true' steakhouse standards.

there's a Ruth's Chris across rfom where I work. I hit that motherfucker like once a week, sometimes more. Average age of the people in there is like 80 though...not a social place around here.

RC rocks when they cook your steak in butter. I usually get the NY Strip...it's fucking huge. The sides (potatoes mostly) at RC are also enormous so if you bring a date, don't both get a side item unless you are getting completely different items.

When I go back to NY I go to Peter Luger - there is also one in Great Neck on Long Island, but with a Ruth's Chris in Garden City....well, it;s pretty tough to decide. My family likes RC better so we usually go there.

Mortons is all right...not my favorite. I don't care for that showy bullshit where they bring out all the uncooked food, although seeing the lobster under glass is kinda funny....he;s the one going in the tank if you go the lobster route.

Smith & Wollensky's is lousy.
