Got woken up at 5 am to rush that filthy cat to the hospital

This shit has become a night mare for me and quite honestly I really dont feel responsible for what happened.For those Of you that were in chat last night you would know that my sister showed up with the cat and of course I refused to let it In.The first thing i tried to do was put it in the dog kennel on my back porch but my dog was attacking the hell out of it so I shit canned that idea,next we decided(or she decided I'm just going with whatever)That she would keep the cat in her car with the windows cracked until morning and than some co-worker was gonna come get it.Well,this morning the cat was un concious and panting so she decides to take it the local animal hospital(The vet had to be woken up)Well they put an IV in it and tried to rehydrate it but they said it was too late the cat had to be laid down and Hopefully now we can get past all this.RIP big red Id say I'll miss you but that would be a blatant lie.
 
Jesus christ, poor fucking cat. I'd say your sister is a retard, but she's probably beating herself up enough. Not sure how I'd handle killing my cat.

And it sucks because i had her going outside every couple hours and running the a/c and walking that cat around in the yard on a leash.I even made sure that the water bowl had ice cubes in it.

Yeah its unfortunate that this happened but at least now i dont have to worry about coming home and finding that cat parlaying all over my nice leather sofas.
 
the animal's health & welfare was up to the OWNER, not mo boy.
 
Wow the vet calls and says that we need to come make a payment of 227.00 to handle the creamation and disposal of the animal I tell her I will be handling the creamation and disposal myself.Translates to=kitty is going in a garbage bag into a dumpster behind walgreens fuckers dead anyways.

The cat had to be teathered somehow bro to go and do its business and during the summer I always keep ice cubes in my dogs bowl so why not the cats?

The responsibility doesn't just lay with your sister. With this comment you COULD be charged with the offense. You knew the chances of the cat's outcome at this time. You are just as much accountable for what happened and maybe more. You had the means to keep that cat from having it's organs slowly cooked. I have made my standing on abuse against children very clear and animals trail a VERY CLOSE SECOND.
To be honest. If I knew where you were bro you would get charged.

Depending on what you and your sister told the vet as to what caused its death. I'm thinking fate lies in the hands of the Vet. That's if he/she is a person of ethics and integrity. Pretty sure they're obligated to report such a ACCIDENT.
I'd give it a couple days. Might not be over with yet.

to me no animal should be in a higher pedestal than another one. it seems people on this board put a cats death over a dogs, turtles, ect.
all animals should be treated the same way i believe.....

I really don't think I can blame you or her, she really loved the cat it seems and checked on the cat as per what you said, so it's not your "fault" per se.... but at the very least I would forbid her having more animals since she didnt put two and two together as to how to properly care for her pet.....

I hate to see females crying period, but if I knew that I was in any way shape or form "kind of" responsible.....it would kill me. But I say "kind of" because PO has ever right to refuse an animal in his house that may fuck up his nice shit. Nice shit costs money and we can all empathize with animals cause they're cute, but they can tear shit up........dogs can do some shit too. It's kind of a tragic situation all around. She should have taken the animal to a no kill shelter and let em know that as soon as she finds a place she's coming back for the animal.

I'm staying out of this. Everyone except the vet is at fault but ignorance of animal physiology isn't a crime. Cats are actually more intolerant of high temperatures than people are and the whole water drinking thing doesn't do a bit of good because they don't sweat (besides, what good would sweating do in an enclosed car). It happens damned quick, once their body temperature gets over 103 you're in trouble, you've got literally minutes to stop/reverse the process. It's basically like locking an infant in a car, same body weight.

For those of you bitching at Shrimp because of this, grow the fuck up. He told her not to bring it...it was abundantly clear that the cat was not welcome there. And there's no room for debate on that either: HIS property, HIS rules, no exceptions. Yet she brought it anyways, so it was relegated to a less than ideal environment and it got fukked up. That's on his sister, not him...not one damn bit.

Shrimp, your sister really needs to avoid having any pets anytime soon, because someone who can't even take care of themselves has no business trying to take care of an animal. Sit her down, and really drill this point into her head.

What part of allergies don't you understand? That dander won't be contained to the area you keep it in...shit floats around in the air...circulates through the ducts...lingers for a long time too. And shrimp made it perfectly clear that the cat would not be permitted to set one paw inside his house (rightfully so too...allergies are no joke)

As horrified as I am by this, it's a tragic accident caused by ignorance. Just because poboy doesn't really care that the cat died doesn't mean he intended harm. I'm sure he THOUGHT the cat would be ok.

Bullshit. He's as responsible as she is. He shouldn't have allowed her into his home with an animal in the car, not until she made proper arrangements for the care of the animal.
