Goodye to Free Speech in the USA!!

The South Carolina legislature has passed legislation that is forcing the Dixie Chicks to perform for free for troops and family members as "PUNISHMENT" for the lead singer's remark about Shrub.

No matter what you thought if what she said about the current prez, having the government force punishment for free speech means that the Bill of Rights is being trampled on.

I am searching for an article on this, but I did hear this on CBC radio.

Not true. It was not legislation - it was a House resolution asking them to perform a free concert for military families in South Carolina.

Basically, the majority of the South Carolina House of Representatives voted in agreement for a formal request that the band perform. Nothing more.

(Essentialy, the South Carolina House of Representatives was exercising their free speech - not forcing anyone to do anything.)
