girls plz help with the LBD

I also posted this in girl talk, but i kinda need help quick

I have a quarter sleeved little black dress, it is low cut and hits just above the knee, maybe two inches? maybe three. Not very short but above the knee.

In my opinion its kinda conservative, but i wouldnt wear it to work. Its a party dress.

I want to wear it to a bachelorette party without looking too boring, or whatever. I want it to be fun, but I also want to wear black clunky shoes because thats all i have, and I really like these shoes. I mean, I have a pair of hot pink slingbacks that would be cute too but they dont quite look right with the dress so they are out of the option

its almost too hot to wear boots...but i dont really want to wear my boots. I want to buy a new pair first.

Are fishnets always a no? Even if they are the tiny weave?? the super tiny? What can I do to liven this dress up ( i dont want to look like a tramp though)

the way I'm going, my purse, shoes and accessories are all going to be black. Is that too boring?

I just had a black tie affair for work this past weekend. and my wife wore a similar dress as what you described. She just did her hair up all nice, and put on a nice necklace and earings.

I don't understand why the hot pink sling backs are out? I think that they would be the perfect way to liven up your outfit. Matching your shoes to your handbag is outdated so you can comfortable wear the pink shoes with a black bag.

Could you post up pics of the dress so I can guide you better about accesorizing? Some bold jewelry would also bring the dress to life.

I know what you are saying about the boots but if you wore boots with the fishnets it would make the outfit much more fashionable without looking too *slutty*. I would even wear the fishnets with the hot pink slingbacks but that is my style, over the top. If you aren't 100% comfortable, I wouldn't wear it.

Did you ever think to pick up a pair of cute little heels to go with the dress? Animal print are VERY HOT this season. Stop by DSW and pick up a pair. I am certain you could find suitable shoes for under 40 bucks.

If you do go with the boots and the fishnets (which IMHO would also be VERY hot and sexy w/out remotely slutty) then you should def wear some bold jewelry for added pizzaz to balance out the subtlety of the black boots and tiny fishnets (which would be mostly hidden beneath the boots and length of dress). Go for a really bold cuff bracelet and bold earrings. Or you can do smaller understated earrings and lots of chains of different lengths and links and various tones - throw in some faux pearls... think very Chanel (this look is signature Chanel).

IMHO that would STUNNING - classy but hot and sexy - definitely FUN!

I like a nice bold cuff bracelet or just a simple watch and your wedding jewelry.

OR...........

If you really wanted to rock a look - then ditch the fishnets and get an animal print boot! Black hose... and definitely bold simple gold-tone jewelry and black bag.

I have a sense of fashion, I mean how to dress, but my style has changed so much, fashion being the cultural trend of what to wear or 'content' and style being the individual attitude or expression of one's internal being, consciousness... anyway my style went from all black pretentious, to this kind of urban, zen, beatnik, bracelet wearing, to now just conventional shirt and jeans, or cords... however... I always loved style, but lost interest for some unexplicable reason in the last 2 years, I would like to renew that relationship of expressing my own unique style... but its so much harder to define now.. I dunno.
Maybe I will just start wearing Saris.. lol

I was using the wrong word, they are brand new shoes I bought but not for this dress in particular. They are a fall shoe, not strappy thats why I used the word chunky. I dont know shoe lingo I guess. lol
