girlfriends bed is KILLING my back!

she has one of those enormous beds made out of marshmallow. when i lie down on the thing it practically swallows me whole. the thing is killing my back. any ideas on a way to firm up my side of the bed?

Does she have a featherbed on top of her matress? If so, by her a twin for her side and keep your side with just the matress. My husband has major back problems too. Sleeping is always a big issue. We have gone through 4 matresses in a year. We even tried the select comfort air bed.
