Gaining muscle and losing fat on cycle..?

I am sure most people are well aware that if they throw extra calories into their diet, they'll bulk up with muscle and fat; Take calories away, and you'll lose fat and maybe some muscle.
But burning fat & gaining muscle at the same time(or at least in the same cycle) is another story..

I see people ending up leaner and heavier than they were at the beginning of their cycles..
How is this achieved? Bulking & cutting in the same cycle? Carb cycling? Keto-bulking? bulking with a lot of cardio?

All answers/experiences are greatly appreciated.:D
 
On my current cycle I've gone from 200 at around 10-12% bf to a much leaner looking 205. Its definitely possible if you're diet is on point. I could've done much better if I hadn't had some bumps in the road the last two weeks where my diet was a little off.

I just ran low carbs, tons of protein, and plenty of good fats

high calorie intake around 800cals over bmr with 50/20/30 split with some a.m. cardio should do the trick. Although you won't put on as much muscle as with a more traditional bulking diet. Or if you're running a longer cycle then you could bulk for say 10 weeks then cut for 4-6 weeks.
