Two plead innocent to drug charges

Two men accused of selling anabolic steroids in Columbus parking lots pleaded innocent to drug charges during a Recorder's Court hearing Saturday.

Marcus Newberry of Bush Avenue and Christopher Nicolais of Springridge Drive each were charged with three counts of the sale of steroids. Newberry, 19, also was charged with use of a communication device while committing a felony, possession of a knife during the commission of a crime and obstruction of police after he struggled with Metro Narcotics Task Force Agents during a Friday arrest in the parking lot of the Columbus Park Crossing Shopping Center.

Nicolais, a student at Chattahoochee Valley Community College, also was charged with one count of possessing cocaine after agents recovered steroids and powdered cocaine at his home.

Newberry remains held at the Muscogee County Jail on bonds totaling $33,000. Nicolais was released on bonds totaling $32,500.

Welcome to the land of the free.

When are the dumb fucks going to learn, don't fuck with coke. Chances are 9 out 10 that the cops were watching this guy because of coke and not steroids. The steroid bust gave them the opportuinty to search for coke. Chances are also 9 out of 10 that the steroid charges will be forgotten and prosacution will proceed on a charge of possession with intent to distribute cocaine.

"Newberry, 19, also was charged with use of a communication device while committing a felony"

You've got to be kidding me....whats next??

That is total bullshit!
