Two plead innocent to drug charges
Two men accused of selling anabolic steroids in Columbus parking lots pleaded innocent to drug charges during a Recorder's Court hearing Saturday.
Marcus Newberry of Bush Avenue and Christopher Nicolais of Springridge Drive each were charged with three counts of the sale of steroids. Newberry, 19, also was charged with use of a communication device while committing a felony, possession of a knife during the commission of a crime and obstruction of police after he struggled with Metro Narcotics Task Force Agents during a Friday arrest in the parking lot of the Columbus Park Crossing Shopping Center.
Nicolais, a student at Chattahoochee Valley Community College, also was charged with one count of possessing cocaine after agents recovered steroids and powdered cocaine at his home.
Newberry remains held at the Muscogee County Jail on bonds totaling $33,000. Nicolais was released on bonds totaling $32,500.
