I LOVE LOVE AUTO-CAD!

I think of every so often when I'm clicking my mouse.

;)

What version are you running?

My Gosh, Ill have to send you some of my work so you can check it out.

I love playing in there from House Plans, to Piping, to basic School banners and Football banners for my kids.

What are you doing in it now?

Frisky, what version are you running? I use it everyday at work, but we're still using 14 as well as 2000

I don't use it often here at work, we are running a Solids modeling program now so AutoCad is only for our old prints.

I believe we are running 14 and I have 2000 or 14 lite I can't remember, at home. For what I use it for I stay pretty basic, so its not worth the hassel of upgrading and worrying about having to dig up old dwg's for customers and messing with conflicting versions. PITA, so I stick with my same version.

Also, there is a free software that came out to save any version to any version.

So no more "Drawing by incompatible version" messages and no more upgrading simply to open newer drawings.

Check it out..

They totally changed their entities. We sell a DXF converter for our machien tool controls and a lot of the entities from 2004 and up no longer work with our product.

We use SolidEdge for all our cad and modeling work though.

Autodesk AC 2005
We just did title blocks, hatching and dimensioning last week.

I haven't ordered the program yet for myself - I have about 5 weeks left of class.

That would be so cool to see.

Do any of you use cam software? If so, what type? We use MasterCam at work. It's good to see people here w/ some cad skills.

I work for a CNC manufacturer, we don't use any CAM software ourselves but I'm familiar woth lots of them since we support .cam files. I am certified in MasterCAM 9.0
