ive dispensed methadone to some pretty far gone junkies, and hung around a lot of people who have been significantly affected by drug use

i think we either adopt a holland style approach, or crack down very hard on users as well as dealers. not so much by stiffening penalties, but by actually catching more offenders

cocaine and heroin will fuck you over because it is so hard to get off them. youll realise you are fucked but you just wont care

everyone out there imagine prostituting yourself for a hit or two. thats what befalls many users and all of them, if asked the same thing earlier in their lives would have felt the disgust at the idea you probably feel right now

I used to have a bad coke prob when i was an undergrad in college and thats why it took me 6.5yrs to graduate. But i quit, isolated myself from those people and that 'thing', graduated, went on to become an RD and am now going to grad school. Everyone can move on if they have the inner will power. Most on this board do i believe as that is what the lifestyle is about.

I will tell you this. I have never seen people do more FUCKED UP things for something MY LIFE than they will do for a line of COKE. Especially women. It truly is EVIL.

youre right, penalties on their own are insufficient.

although i must say, given how easy it is for any joe blo of the street to purchase drugs, and also given how lenient penalties are for users, a change in enforcement is in order

i am disgusted that i can be pulled over for a breath test at random while a person at a rave with an extremely high likelihood of being on an illicit, far more dangerous, far more toxic, FAR more addictive drug isnt subject to equivalent scrutiny

hell you can walk into a nightclub here and step on empty plastic bags almost from the front door all the way to the bar. its a farce, it really is
