For Those Of Ya'll that Use the Evil Drug Cocaine...

In terms of drugs...

The greatest preventable cause of death in the world, second to none? Tobacco use. The greatest financial burden on society of any drug second to none? Tobacco. The most powerful cartel, in terms of governmental influence and sheer economic clout? Tobacco, by far.

You want to start a war on drugs? pick the most dangerous one first or shove your double standard reeking "we are protecting society from the evil of drugs" rantings up your misinformed, knee jerk reactionary ass.

I am here until thursday, try the veal.

Tis true. The hypocrisy of this country is suffocating.

So, you are saying that acute toxicities occur more often with nicotine than say cocaine, heroin, or methampetamine? I don't think so.

Toxicologically (in terms of route of administration), cigarettes are very safe. No one dies of cigarettes after only a few puffs, it takes years before damage occurs. You could liken cigarette dangers to that of eating Big Mac's everyday.

coke aint to bad....for sure not the worst...the drugs aint the problem its the people that odnt have enough self control to be able to enjoy somehting without abusing it...i partied for years and enjoyed myself...but i also knew how to limit myself and when i realised i had a problem and was dong to much i completly quit.........now my cousin on the other hand never had any self control and is now on methadone right now along with his wife and a few other of our friends...i have had 4 friends i know od off heroin and i guess like they say only the strong survive...natures way of taking out the weak...its sad to see people caught up but i say legalize it...they want to kill themsleves with drugs let them...more room for the people that really want to live...

Did some a couple weeks ago actually. The first time in a few years. It was cool b/c it cranked me up without the anxiety. Couldn't sleep for shit but that's to be expected

you know, atlantabiolab, as per the above response and the other thread in which you participated (ireland as a country ready to ban smoking in public or similar) you seem to be a tad out of touch with reality, and ready to jump down anyones throat who doesnt like smoking

you wouldnt happen to be a smoker, would you?

I'm not a smoker and have no problem with tobacco being legal. It's the fact that our govt. determines that some drugs while potentially harmful are legal and others with the same or less risk factors are not. It's bullshit.

Well, how is alcohol distributed? bars, pubs, liquor stores etc. Drugs could be sold through conventional distributin means - at least then you could have some oversight as to purity.

oh sorry, seem to have missed this post :) must have been tapping out the other one

its not just about purity. its about safety. with coke etc purity isnt a huge issue anyway- the processes by which it is produced wont give you any hugely toxic impurities. ethanol on the other hand was often contaminated with methanol, causing blindness.

Consider that the average street asshole could sell you cocaine cut with finely ground fiberglass. Yet alcohol is regulated as to content. Purity is a real consideration.

see above.
