Good to keep this bumped if anyone has advice or words of encouragement for a fellow bro. It's also important for the newbies to see. Don't, for a minute, believe this shit isn't serious.

With all due respect, this is something you should be disscussing with your doctor, or doctors.

Exactly. When/If your life is on the line it might be better to ask your doctor(s) about the proposed supplements, not internet gurus though they may be helpful at times. There are some people here who work in the medical field and probably some med students but if it were me I'd still get help from the real specialists.

Dr Ames has the entire 5th floor of Children's Hospital Reseach Center in San Francisco and is very well respected. Even you may know of the Ames index. He has doctors from as far as Korea working with him on discovering what r-lipoic acid can do. But I guarantee 99% of all onocologists know nothing of Dr Packer or Dr Ames work with R-Lipoic acid. Simply because it's way out of the box.

You can have the physician call me and I will direct him to the proper data.

As far as AS goes, like Fonz said, ox is the drug of choice. But you should discuss that with the onocologist and not the GP.

Sometimes, people can be such FOOLS.

Discuss this with your doctor? What? Are we are all stupid here on EF?

You want to know what the doc is going to tell him?

1. CHEMOTHERAPY.......followed by MORE CHEMOTHERAPY.

He is NOT going to give him ANY type of advice on supplements or whatever. The only thing he will get prescribed is Oxandrin. PERIOD.

To the doctor, he is simply a patient. Nothing else.

It is up to HI to take the helm and supplement himself with things that CAN and WILL help him in his recovery.

Supplements, if the right ones are used properly can make a MASSIVE difference in the outcome of a disease. Diet as well.

"I never had thought about supplements to help something like this before."

Keep in mind Glucorell R's r-ALA is a drug in Germany. It is only a supplement in the US.

interesting. i wonder how long it will be before the US bans RALA

I NEVER said people here are stupid nor implied it. I have received help many times at AF and know there are very knowledgeable bros around. As for you calling me a fool, I think YOU are the fool but I will not get into that now as it doesn't concern this issue.

What I meant by my original post was that right now ONLY HI's doctor or doctors have all the facts and information about his case and possible disease. That's why it is extremely important to run things, such as possible supplement use, by the people treating him and discuss things with them, BEFORE taking advice from a self proclaimed internet genius, such as Fonz. Of course he can and should gather information and advice but maybe wait before implementing some of it. It's one thing to give advice on fat burning, muscle building and the likes but we're dealing with cancer!

All I'm saying is he shouldn't jump on a supplement routine because you said so, without consulting doctors. I just don't think it's wise to self medicate when he may have a dangerous disease. Ulter's advice was sound (referring the physician to Dr Ames) and will surely help. I could have worded my original post a little better. That is all.

I must be a fucking moron then because I would be going stratight to a doc and probably not even worry about the medical advice that people on EF can give. It is probably not a bad idea to take herbal supplements and natural immune boosters, but that is a side trip and accesory only to real medicine.

HI,

Keep learning all you can about your condition. Obviously, the more informed you become the more sound your judgements will be.

Props to those who gave him the information he asked for.

Best of luck.
