I don't have to justify the indifference, the response was obviously normal / expected judging by the reactions of a whole bunch of people (a majority) on the beach, unless you'd like to state how you occupy a perceived higher plane of morality than the dozens (if not hundreds) of folks there that witnessed it?

Damn right I do. I'm not racist, and even if those girls had been bothering me, I would not be indifferent to their bodies lying feet away from me.

Casually sunbathing in front of dead children lying on the beach is unusual, no matter what you may think.

Now, no one has thrown this out yet, but I imagine that part of this behavior may be explained by group dynamics. If one or more people would have acted upset and left the beach, I would imagine that they would have left in droves. However, since the group was acting as if nothing happened, everyone went along with the group dynamic. It is similar to studies in which they show crimes happening in front of a large group of people and no one intervenes. Group behavior is very powerful.

However, that doesn't excuse it as the right way to behave.

A friend of mine is going to school in the bahamas and came back to visit this week. He said that they told him he cold not have a job with benes because he as white. He said that racisim is really bad there towards the white man.

Well in the UK it would resemble something out of Princess Di's funeral; total strangers tripping over one another trying to out-do the next person for overt displays of grieving, hand wringing, wailing and gnashing of teeth.

in any emergency situation, where the authorities are on hand, the best thing to do is mind your own beeswax and let the trained personnel do their job. . .everytime i come across an accident on the highway and traffic comes to a standstill because of fucking rubberneckers, i feel like shotgunning every single one of them. . .GET YOUR FUCKING CAR THE FUCK OUT OF THE WAY ASSHOLE BEFORE YOU CAUSE ANOTHER ACCIDENT. . .

I've seen highway accidents that they've had to cover the whole area with large sheets to hide the victims from cameras....
