Anybody else think it odd that the article claims they carried the dead girls off the beach in a coffins? I suspect this was another journalistic puff piece written to incite emotions - thus sell more papers.

who the fuck leaves bodies lying on the beach for X minutes while it is a heavy tourist spot? The news reporters show up before the paramedics and/or coroner? That's just wrong in itself.

Thats what I was wondering, plus how did the people know who was under the towels you cant even see them.

Na, I just don't indulge in faux grief like yourself so that I can be all "Hey, look at me! I'm totally getting emotional here over people I didn't know! Now people can see what a great person I am! I'll need therapy now so that I have something to talk about with my girlfriends over coffee!"

Please, there are hundreds if not thousands of these examples happening daily around the world including the US, not just in callous Italy

Again, people will feed you a line of shit about displaying overt grief, needing to see therapists etc after witnessing the bodies of 2 adolescent girls lying dead on the beach under a towel, but if you're at the beach with your young family, and a group of teenage girls are hassling you and your kids, begging you for cash, trying to sell you shit, possibly steal your shit when you're not looking, how would you actually feel upon later finding out they'd drowned?

These people were indifferent to the corpses, they weren't exactly denigrating their bodies / disrespecting the physical dead.

2) Stop trying to justify your own indifference to dead children by acting like that's the normal response and anything else is "fake."

I don't have to justify the indifference, the response was obviously normal / expected judging by the reactions of a whole bunch of people (a majority) on the beach, unless you'd like to state how you occupy a perceived higher plane of morality than the dozens (if not hundreds) of folks there that witnessed it?

I know that it is very hard for Americans to concieve of this, but Europeans don't look on gypsies as human beings. THAT is how bad the prejudice is. This event is just ONE instance of unmistakeable evidence of that.

Americans really have no clue because most have not ventured outside of the US.
