Not to start a fight but they are pretty scummy people. They teach their kids to steal lie and manipulate. I work with a gypsie that disowned her heritage because of this fact. She refused to do what they wanted when she got older and they out casted her. Her OWN family.

Believe me, I know EXACTLY how the majority of this race of people behaves but still I think it's sad.

Every now and then someone would find out my ethnic origin and tease me and call me "gypsy". I am like, "Dude, do you realize how UNfunny and insutling that is?"

I am 100% full blooded Magyar. My father's family was even noble before communism but still I am dark like my father and so is my third daughter. Because of this believe it or not, all three of us have been teased by our own people. LOL My oldest is harshest on my third. She calls her "filthy" because her skin is so dark.

Good lord, I just don't understand (because wanton hate just doesn't fit into my head).... :(

Anyway, a really sad story but one that I understand (because I was raised within the Magyar community).

when i was in greece i found that people there have more exposure to death/dead people and are more accepting of the cycle of life

here in australia most people havnt seen a dead person

when iw as there peopel would load a dead body into the back of a truck and drive it to the cemetary, trying hard not to go around the corners too fast

id love ot hear what spart has to say about this

Well you can cross their names off your clipboard now.

Another interesting theory. I wonder if the drowning victims were Italian if the peoples' reaction would have been the same.

you assume that they didnt think that in the first place

dunno about you, but if i saw a little dead girl, i wouldnt be thinking about her ethnic background

I can only make assumptions based on what I read. From what I read there were four little girls that all the people on the beach new were Roma. And all did nothing (with the exception of the lifeguards) while they all screamed for help.

fair enough, but its a terrible assumption to make if the truth was, for example, that spectators were staying out of the way in order for lifeguards to do a better job

Bottom line is none of us was there and WE ALL KNOW about the media...

Sad story no matter how you look upon it as human lives were lost.

Maybe the children's ethnicity had nothing to do with it but perhaps the paper had an agenda?
