Please, there are hundreds if not thousands of these examples happening daily around the world including the US, not just in callous Italy

Maybe some people feel ACTUAL grief when they see drowned children.

I know that it is very hard for Americans to concieve of this, but Europeans don't look on gypsies as human beings. THAT is how bad the prejudice is. This event is just ONE instance of unmistakeable evidence of that.

Americans really have no clue because most have not ventured outside of the US.

I find that to be unbelievably sickening. (The way these people are treated all over the world, that is).

Not to start a fight but they are pretty scummy people. They teach their kids to steal lie and manipulate. I work with a gypsie that disowned her heritage because of this fact. She refused to do what they wanted when she got older and they out casted her. Her OWN family.

I would ACTUALLY be shocked and sad to see dead children because...here it comes!!!....I have a heart, and I'm a human being. Yes, tragedy happens everywhere, every day. But when it happens in front of your face, the natural reaction is to have some sort of emotional response to it. being indifferent to the death of children when it happens right in front of you is not natural.

The Italian media is doing their part with regards to the coverage they give to the muggings, high profile rapes and murders committed by gypsies etc on native Italians, especially young females

While obviously this wouldn't be justification for retaliatory attacks & a rising sense of nationalism, bear this in mind as an attributing factor as to how Italians perceive gypsies, immigrants etc.
