Extreme stiffness in quad day after shot

Last Friday, I gave myself a 2 ml injection of sust in my left quad. Around 24 hours later, I began to experience the usual post shot sourness, but the pain progressively increased and seemed to be at its worse just above and to the left of my left knee. By now (1:02 am, Sunday morning), I woke up in the middle of the night and found that I could barely bend my knee (I can bend it now, but it's slow and painful work). There is pain and swelling on the area of my left leg just above and to the left of my left knee, but without discoloration. I've already given myself three 2 ml shots of this sust on different days (all in the right quad) without any problems. Has anybody every had any kind of reaction like this before? What the hell is it? We've all had post shot sourness before, but I've never heard of anything like this? Any thoughts?

I had the exact same problem with a shot of test enathathe in my right quad. It started with the same soreness but than got terrible. I could barely walk and I went to the doctor because I thought it was my knee as well. It was horrible, but cleared after about a week. I repeated the shot in my left quad and had the exact same problem, it was probably even more painful. It was only 1.5CC injection of 350mg/ml. I chalked it up to injecting into the wrong location in the quad, because I shot the same test into my glutes and deltoid without a problem. The problems cleared up without any sort of antibiotics or treatment other than ice and heat to dull the pain. I tried to do bodyweight squats to ease the tension but it made it worse.

Is this your first time shooting into the quad, or your first time shooting into a different part or area of your quad?

No, in fact ,I've only ever shot in the quad. Being that this is my 7th or so cycle, I'd say I've probably shot just about everywhere reasonable on the quad that one can. I don't think I shot it too low. Now that I think about it, all the pain is located below the point of injection.

Did you have any swelling? If so, did you try ice? What did the doc say? Did you have the same problem with the other quad?

Yeah, all my pain was located below where I injected too. It freaked me out. I have pretty muscular quads, and the swelling was enough to where you couldn't even make it out. The ice made the swelling go down. My doctor knew about the injection, but didn't really have an idea why it had a reaction like that. He prescribed me some medicine but said in his honest opinion it probably wouldn't of help. He also said it was possible that the needle pierced or grazed a blood vessel while withdrawing the needle.

The same thing happened when I injected into my other quad--but I injected into nearly the same location so that could be the reason for that. My advice would be continue the injection in other quad, and avoid your hurt quad for 2 or 3 weeks to hopefully normal things out. After my legs were back to normal my squats and deadlift were just as strong, so I would not worry to much about having to skip those two exercises for a week. I was able to do pendlay rows without a problem while healing up.

But as always, seeing a doc and being upfront and honest is always the best case. Since my doctor wasn't exactly sure of the problem and it could of been a lot worse--better to besafe than sorry.

That's cool, bro. Thanks for the input. Also, did you have any discoloration?

Right above my right quad there was what looked like a medium sized bruise. I'm guessing that went along with his theory of nicking a vein or blood vessel. But I'm not sure if that is the discoloration you're thinking off.

I can't really say I'm thinking of any kind of discoloration. So far, luckily, I haven't had any.

same problem same exact spot as you. my leg felt sore and tight almost felt like someone was carving into me with a razor.i tried cardio on the elliptical machine to see if it would loosen up. made it worse . i just took it easy for a week no leg workouts.just recovered from it. actually i just got back from doing my first leg workout since and i was stronger on all my lifts. just take it easy imo.ill never shoot that friggin low on my quad again though.
