I will tell you this - I love animals BUT the best dish I ever had in my life in a small little mom and pop restaurant in Budapest (Wife was the waitress and the husband the chef) was a nice Veal fillet topped with Frois Gras with a black cherry red wine sauce........

Oh man it would be worth the plane ticket back there just to eat at that place again!!

Can't be a hyprocrit - I love to eat those critters.

LOL... you still are allowing the slaughter of one animal and protesting the slaughter of another... and thats really not all that bad... its when you sit here and belittle those whom don't agree with you. So what if i were to eat Foie Gras but didn't eat chicken or eggs... would that make you any better than me? Both of us are killing an animal for our own consumption.

Oh, and world hunger... I feed myself and my family... any means necessary .... Duck, cow, chicken, deer, fish... we gonna eat

I wasn't belittling anyone's opinion on it. What I started doing was posting right back to those who were insulting me. If you go back to the first page, you will see that all I do is post a link to the Foie Gras page and tell people to check that out and then make their decision. The people who were sitting and constantly insulting me, degrading my efforts, etc, I insulted back - sure maybe I shouldn't do that but whatever...

Well you can do with your family whatever you choose to do.. I am going to try to raise my kids as vegetarians.. those people are healthier anyway...

first of all, why the FUCK would you want to eat goose/duck liver? jesus christ.
I've tried every type of cuisine and that does not even make slight sense to me
french come up with some weird shit.

second, for those who say "well,you eat chicken, steak etc" there's a difference. the slaughtering is much more humane , especially with chicken. most of the time they're gased.
beef? i've heard many horror stories..not to sure about how humane it is.

point is, there's a big difference between humanely slaughtering an animal and torturing them.

those pictures make me want to throw up....

And when I buy my chicken and turkey (which isn't often at all) I usually buy Kosher. And for those who aren't familiar with Kosher meats, research it.

Free range does not mean "welfare friendly" nor is there any type of inspection system for so-called free range producer. No matter what, battery or free range, those chickens live for a grand total of about a year and then it's off to the processing plant (which is better than the male chicks, the vast majority of which are destroyed immediately, hopefully by being gassed but usually they're just thrown away or chucked straight into a grinding machine with the rest of the eggshells).

The only way you know, for a fact, the living conditions of the chickens is if you actually go TO the farm and buy the eggs from the farmers themselves after having actually inspected the facilities.

I'm that cool. Anything I do no matter what, people will bash me- it's okay though because they will continue to say I asked for it. The reason I posted this thread was because I was really excited and I had just found out I was going. But people will twist that, too - saying I wanted the attention and blah blah blah... hehe.

Dude - chickens are hung upside down on a moving assembly line and their necks are then drawn across a blade cutting the heads off into a large basin.

you don't help your cause though alot of the time. you can defend your viewpoint without getting down to other people's levels, especially when it's things that out of line. your rebuttals are often evaluatory type statements, which always provoke another defensive response. hense the endless flames lol.
