I try to have compassion for all living things. Foie Gras isn't something I eat personally, but here's my problem - people telling other people what to do with their time and money. Wouldn't your time be better spent volunteering at a soup kitchen or maybe in the parks department cleaning up our cities parks? Or what about meals on wheels? You can deliver meals to the elderly that can't leave their houses instead of telling others what to do. Seriously - is Foie Gras even that popular?
I volunteer plenty.. in fact one reason I got a job was because I needed some new experience since I always volunteered and never "worked."

I do plenty of that. But what I don't get is I am fighting for something I believe in, so why put me down? I can't do EVERYTHING and fight for everything that people individually feel is appropriate, you know? And yes, Foie Gras is a pretty popular delicacy.

P.S. I've done soup kitchens and parks along with so many other things. :)

Have you ever been to a chicken farm? Even a 'cage free' chicken farm?
Nope. Did you read my previous posts? I eat eggs, yes. But I am still supporting what I want to do wed. It's a chain, I understand..

lol... unhatched eh?

Now, would that be unhatched due to 'normal' circumstances ... or for the need of human comsumption?

what people don't realize is that this girl is merely trying to do good works so she can make amends for the terrible things she's done in myriad past lives.

i seem to recall the merciless torture and brutal murder of a homeless woman in 18th century paris.

So the duck is better than the chicken? I see.

Here's what I don't get - How come just because you believe in it that makes it ok to tell me what to eat? Lots of people have believed in stupid ass wastes of time. I don't believe in eating veal or foie gras or many other things. I just don't tell you what to do. Ask me what I believe and I will tell you - I won't go force it down your throat.

I'm not justifying anything. I choose to fight for what I support at this given moment. You're right, I'm sure that the chicken suffers as well and I try to be as humane as possible when buying eggs. But I feel that force feeding an animal so their liver explodes inside of them, their beaks break off, they cannot walk, and die on their own vomit, is a bit different.

Stop criticizing and judging what I want to do. What do you fight for? What have YOU done... focus on that, please.

I am excited for this so keep trying to bring me down... won't work. :)

P.S. Do you know who makes your clothes, jewelry, etc? It never ends, yeah?

I'm not telling you what to eat. I'm supporting what I believe. So if I believe it should be banned, then I will support it - and it's not because "oh, I think you shouldn't eat this," it's because, "I cannot stand the amount of suffering that these animals have to endure." - THAT is why. Do you think whale/dolphin should be made legal? Many believe that it should.. because they want to eat those mammals. :)

Did you know that when they harpooned whales, half the time they thought they were dead and they weren't... what happened was their bodies simply couldn't move, part of their brain shut down, but many researchers/scientists believed that they could feel every single thing that was being done to them when they were THOUGHT to be dead? To me THAT justifies why you should not eat whale.

By banning it - are you not telling me what to eat? You don't like it - you don't eat it. Someone comes up to you and says, "What do you think of this?" You can say whatever the fuck you want - you start passing laws or protesting so laws are passed banning a food - then your telling me what to eat.

Believing in something is all well and good. Wanting to help animals is all good to - but believing in something is not a good enough argument for taking away peoples choices, when it's as trivial as foie gras.
