Even when drunk, do you still remember your manners?

I worked for several years as a bartender and waiter. Then I went on to become a Conference and Banqueting manager in a Four Star hotel. Anyhow, I cut my losses about 4 years ago and trained up as a teacher.

However, an old friend rang me last night and asked me to help him in his Bar. All his staff had cried off for one reason or other!

The vast majority of customers were actually very pleasant, but as usual, about 10% of the clientele in every Bar in the world are complete Assholes.

What is it about common manners in Bars towards staff. You wouldn't believe the amount of "Hey Buddy, over here" or "Hey man, are you Jewish because you've you have a big nose to breath in all the air" comments. Then, a few other drunks had a few smart things to say as I mopped the floor at the end of the night.

I don't get it, why? All staff in the service sector want to do is serve food and pour drinks. Fair complements or complaints - No problem. Brainless comments - No thanks!

Upbringing mostly. They are not taught good manners or how to behave in public. The way they act towards you is they class they have for everyone.

spit in your food is only the beginning

no, i dont remember my manners. i am the guy on the roof, naked, reenacting elvis '68 comeback concert..........i dont drink anymore.

I grew up in the service/bar industy. My parents had a small tavern with a kitchen. I heard things (just out of earshot of my father) that would have made even a longshoreman blush. Some of the things I saw!.... GOOD GOD.

I always make sure that whether swimming to the gills or stone cold sober I conduct myself like a LADY.

I just don't get what makes some people think that it is *OK* to be a fuckstick just because they have had a few drinks/whathaveyou.

If you can't hold you liquor or behave like a human being under the influence of any substance then either DONT ingest it.... or stay your ass home alone.

im super polite and comforting. its why floorstaff/barstaff love me to bits.

ive worked a lot of different jobs (from construction to pharmacist to contractor to bodyguard almost lol) and when you experience the almost reverence of your patients looking at you when youre in a white coat, to being looked at almost scornfully when youre working floor in a bar and someones dropped a drink, and then almost everything in between, so you develop an appreciation for making the guys doing the shitty job feel good, by way of compliment, asking about their day, what their name is, or just passively being polite

the same mindset is why i get so many girls, come to think of it
