electronic cigs

i always heard about these things, but finally saw one for the first time this past weekend. didn't even look like a cig; it was like a little black pen with a blue light on the tip that comes on when you inhale. it also produces steam for you to exhale, so at least that part looks real. apparently they give you a decent nicotine buzz without any of the downsides. I took a hit and it was delicious, kinda like a smoking a hookah.

if it didn't seem so cheesy and lame i could def see myself enjoying one of these things. i'd be surprised if they really catch on though

its like a vaporizer for tobacco though, i dont think its 100% "safe" though

they also have snortable tobacco i hear

A friend of mine smoked one at a club the other night. Said he liked it and also liked the fact he could do it in doors.

haha yea, i can just imagine some kid bringing one to class and blowing vapor in his prof's face after grabbing a syllabus

My mom got one to help her quit. It looks like a cig, yellowish orange on one end, white on the other. It lights up red and comes in a fake cig box that charges it.

I tried it bc I was curious & that water vapor is delish.

Lol @ water vapor. Depending on what brand of fluid you use, the solvent could include ethylene glycol. Then again, it's smokeless, so yay!!!!!

Same thing as fog machines in the club, Proplyne glycol(sp?) It may seem funny to non smokers, but I smoked for 15 years and the e_cig got me to quit smoking inhaling carbon monoxide, and 1000 other chemicals.
People that did heroin, crack and meth have quit those drugs and couldn't quit tobbacco, its the hardest thing to quit. So havve your laughs, but it works if you want to.

It avoids some of the tobacco lung damage, buy you're still getting a dose of nicotine.

Nicotine is much worse for you than it's billed. The addictive aspect is bad enough, but it causes vasoconstriction that screws up a lot of other systems in your body. I'm more non-smoking than ever since I started working heavily in orthopedic trauma. Smokers just don't heal like other people do.

a lot of places banned the e-cigs and you cant smoke them indoors so check first if you can.... I havent tried them yet... but have meant to.... I do love hookas , I actually own one, love them thingies...

yeah this is really incredibly true...

if Im smoking or using any form of nicotine (patch gum whatever) my feet and hands stay cold...my toes actually are pretty close to blue..cyanosis anyone?

no smoking or other nicotine, my feet are so warm I can barely stand it...
when I first quit this was the most disconcerting "side effect". I coudnt get comfortable at night because my feet were warm.

the other half wants dental implants..he can't get em until he quits smoking (again) because the implants just wont integrate with the bone correctly otherwise

Buergers is sexy!

I have a client who owns one of the bigger companies who produce these. I've been working on some marketing for him and it's been interesting. Society and the government are still trying to figure them out. My goal is to get several venues (bars/clubs) to join an alliance that allows these indoors, then sell them there and begin a social network for these consumers.

a kid i play cards with bought one of them to quit smoking. i took a couple puffs and it definitely curbed my nicotine urge, but it's not for me. i'll take the real deal.
