the problem with just allowing the no no behavior on the plat only chat is that there shouldn't be a thread anywhere on this site where someone can post false info on someone, post their real name, address, etc. What good does it do to just move the threads around. The garbage that is spewed about another member is still garbage no matter where you move it. It's much like sweeping dirt under the rug.repost from another thread..
think there should be. I don't think it will be high traffic, but I think it will be the place to move any thread that isn't following the new, nice, rules.
The big issue is, there still has to be some rules and order there. Mainly, you gotta protect the sponsors. If you look at it, you basically need to not violate that rule and you'll be set. You mess with the revenue stream of EF and you are on thin ice immediately (if you are even allowed to stay). "wasting mods time" now falls into that category really. EF doesn't want its prime time players like AAP wasting time slapping fools on the wrist when he can be doing more profitable mod duties (although who knows what that entails, maybe that's why he's never the one to slap a fool down unless they are deliberately an obnoxious tool).
I think this forum can be improved by removing the talk of religion and politics. I am probably the biggest religion talker her, and I realize that for many, its offensive. Its the unfortunate truth.
Imagine you own this site, you want people to come here, like it, see the sponsors ads, maybe become a new purchaser of some supplements, even a training program, turn your physique around.
Are you likely to do that if you pop in Chat and Conversation and the threads you are are all hateful shit, talking derogatory about your faith? Or about a politician you support and favor? How about shit threads? I have to say I agree with Spellwin, who really wants to read about bowel movements? There could be a rare humorous niche somewhere, but in general, it just doesn't give of the impression you want here. You want people to trust and relate to the place, not think its childish and immature.
The personal attacks too do the same thing. It makes the place seem hostile. You want a place where two bros like us can start a e-book club and discuss books, and not have some douchebag trolling in talking shit just disrupting two paying memebers using the site as it is intended, to build an online community of diverse and knowlegable people who share at least a minor interest in fitness in common with each other.
