Dumbbells VS. Barbells

Prime Rib

New member
I am coming to find that I am getting a LOT better results strength/size wise from DB's rather than BB's. I do believe the extra effort required for stabilizing goes a LONG way in building muscle and strength. I am considering to completely erase BB training for my chest routine, and strickly using DB's for Incline & Flat. Thoughts?

both are good. mix it up.

alternate using db's and bb's each workout so your body never gets a chance to say, "ok i got this"

I just switched back over to dumbells for my incline movement.. WOW... It feels terrific...

I switched flat back to barbell now though..... Give me 6-8 to see how it goes...

BB Bench is a better compound lift for total upper-body strength-- it hits the delts & tris more than DP press...DB bench hits more the pecs directly & the secondary stabilizer muscles- so it really depends on what your goals are.

for best results- I would mix it up & def. not eliminate BB movements.
