I went to Punta Cana Last August, stayed at the Paradisus. The resort, grounds, and beach were phenominal the only possible complaint would be the food, it looked great and was a large variety but didn't always sit that well. DR is a great bang for your buck. I had a great vactation there.
Yea definately watch out for the food in DR, none of it sits well. Also hope you don't mind locals trying to sell you anything and everything from the sand on the beach to there first born. Gets irritating after a while.
